"I'll be leaving first, miss. I'll be waiting for you in the car."

As Alfred bid farewell and departed down the stairs, Y/N was left behind, alone in the quiet hallway.

Closing her eyes, Y/N drew in a deep, trembling breath, trying to steady her emotions.

As Y/N finally opened her eyes, her gaze shifted to her right, where she was met with the sight of Chaeryeong and Yeji, standing quietly.

"Sorry, we didn't mean to eavesdrop."

Chaeryeong's voice broke the silence, a nervous smile on her face as she scratched the back of her head.

Y/N remained silent, she briefly glanced at Yeji before she turned away and started to make her way down the stairs.

"Wait—"

"Y/N, forget our deal."

Y/N paused midway down the stairs at the sound of Yeji's words, her footsteps coming to an abrupt halt.

"I didn't really think carefully when I asked you that. So, just forget about it."

A sheepish smile graced Yeji's face as she gently grabbed Chaeryeong's wrist, guiding her closer to where Y/N was standing.

Y/N silently nodded, confirming her understanding of Yeji's words, while Chaeryeong, caught in the middle, was visibly curious about the deal that was being referred to.

"I'm sorry."

Y/N fully turned towards Chaeryeong, her gaze locking with hers as she offered a genuine apology.

Chaeryeong's surprise was evident, her eyes widening slightly at Y/N's unexpected apology.

"I'm sorry for being cold to you. And I'm sorry for that time when I belittled your feelings."

Y/N continued, remorse lacing her words as she voiced her regret over her past behavior.

Chaeryeong listened to Y/N's words intently, her initial surprise giving way to a mixture of emotions. She opened her mouth to speak, but words failed her in that moment.

Instead, Chaeryeong threw herself gently into Y/N's arms, enveloping her in a tender embrace.

Y/N stumbled slightly as she was embraced unexpectedly, and her back gently pressed against the wall, but she managed to regain her footing.

On the other hand, Yeji's heart skipped a beat at the sight, her hand clutching her chest in a mix of surprise and worry.

"When you spoke to me in a cold manner, it felt like there was an invisible wall between us... I didn't like it at all..."

Chaeryeong's emotions were evident in every word she spoke, her head resting softly on Y/N's chest. Her voice quivered with a mix of anger and hurt.

"I'm sorry."

Y/N's voice was soft and tender as she responded, her hand gently patting Chaeryeong's back in a soothing gesture, while her own head leaned against the top of Chaeryeong's head.

"Did you know how much my heart shattered when you mocked my feelings..!? I tried to hide it, but your words cut through me like a knife..."

Chaeryeong voiced her pain, her fist lightly tapping Y/N's chest with all her emotions.

"I'm sorry."

Hearing the same two words, Chaeryeong slowly lifted her head, only to catch sight of a small smile on Y/N's face, as if she found the moment somewhat amusing.
