Y/N Katherine Wilson, daughter of the prestigious Wilson family, a name synonymous with power and global influence.

From the moment she was born, her path was set: excel in all aspects, never falter, never stray.

Her parents, blind to her desires and aspirations, focused exclusively on her accomplishments, leaving no room for personal choice or self-determination.

She couldn't protest, couldn't falter, destined to conform to the expectations thrust upon her.

"Listen carefully, Y/N.
You are our heir, destined to carry on our family's legacy and the hard work we have put into building our empire.
You must shoulder the responsibility of this inheritance and continue our hard work."

The heir.

It was all she knew of herself.

It was etched deeply into her identity.

Her parents kept her away from unnecessary distractions, like a barrier surrounding her and protecting her from outside influences.

They were confident in the strength and resilience of the barrier they had created, convinced that nothing could break through it.

But little did they know, life was full of unforeseeable twists and turns, and even the strongest barriers had their weaknesses.

"Why can't you considering it again?!"

"It's unnecessary to keep discussing this!"

Arriving at her house, Y/N was met with raised voices as she opened the door.

"She's still young, and all of her friends are here!"

"It had nothing to do with YOU! She will follow what I say, nothing else!"

The tension in their was palpable, and her hand instinctively gripped the door handle, freezing in place.

"It does! She's my niece, and we share blood. That makes me family too!"

"Family...? You lost the right to call yourself that when you turned your back on us all those years ago!"

The argument came to a sudden halt.

It was then Y/N entered, she removed her shoes, put on her slippers and silently made her way through the hallway.

As she entered the living room, all eyes in the room were fixated on her.

"I'm back, mother."

With a formal bow, she addressed her mother, her voice polite but devoid of warmth. Her gaze then shifted to the other person, her eyes hardening in a cold glare.

"What is aunt doing here?"

Y/N's cold demeanor had a visible impact on Mrs. Kim.

It had been some time since Y/N had such a blunt manner towards her, and it was evident that she wasn't used to such coldness anymore.

She quickly pushed aside her surprise and unease, focusing on the matter at hand. She approached Y/N, placing her hands firmly on the young girl's shoulders.

"Y/N, are you okay with your mother's decision?"

Her voice was soft yet filled with a sense of urgency. Her eyes bore into Y/N, searching for a response.

"I already told you, it has nothing to do with you!"

Y/N's mother stepped forward, her voice raised in anger as she attempted to push Mrs. Kim away.
