Chapter XXXXI

"That evening, she will leave Korea and fly to London."

Mina reacted instantly, her body fueled by a mix of school, fear, and urgency.

Her feet started to move, pushing through the crowded room hastily, avoiding bumping onto people along the way.

The need to reach Y/N, to find her and confront her, was overwhelming, overpowering any other thought or consideration.

Yeji and Chaeyoung stood there, rooted to the spot, their gazes fixed on Mina's receding figure.

"Aren't you gonna follow her?"

Yeji asked, her eyes shifting to Chaeyoung, no longer able to see Mina's figure.

Chaeyoung kept her gaze in the direction where Mina had disappeared, her expression thoughtful for a moment.

"No. They need to be alone."

She responded with a sense of understanding as a soft smile curled at the corners of her lips.

"You're such a passive girlfriend. I thought you would be jealous or something."

Yeji's words carried a teasing tone, and her hand moved to poke at Chaeyoung's cheeks, a playful gesture.

Chaeyoung couldn't help but laugh at Yeji's words, protecting her cheeks as she tried to swat Yeji's hand away gently.

Chaeyoung's initial laughter died down as she caught Yeji's choice of words.

"Hold on, unnie. I think there's a bit of a mix-up here. Mina-unnie and I—"

Just then, a series of loud, hurried footsteps could be heard, slowly growing louder as they approached.

Yeji's attention was abruptly caught as she felt a tug on her arm, prompting her to turn around and face a rather upset-looking Chaeryeong.

"Hi. You look quite upset, Chaery."

Yeji greeted nonchalantly, her voice dripping with an innocent politeness, and leaned closer to Chaeyoung, seeking refuge behind her shorter friend.

"Don't "hi" me! Since when were you associating with Y/N? And where the hell is she?!"

Chaeryeong's anger was evident in the rise of her tone, her voice tinged with frustration as she seek an explanation for Yeji.

"Well, you know, it's a long story..."

Yeji offered a vague reply without going into details, her eyes roaming around the room.

"Chaeng!"

As someone's call echoed through the air, the three of them turned towards the sound, finding Jeongyeon approaching with the rest of Twice trailing behind her.

"Oh, what a good timing—"

Yeji's relief was interrupted as Chaeryeong swiftly seized Yeji's wrist, pulling her along and leaving no choice but to follow.

"Hm? Where are they going?"

Jihyo asked curiously as she and the girls looked perplexed as they observed Yeji being led away forcibly by Chaeryeong.

Amidst the usual silence and emptiness of the stairway, the sound of rapid footsteps echoed off the walls as Mina hurriedly ascended the stairs.

There were moments where her haste threatened to throw off her balance. Yet, her need to reach a certain destination, to find Y/N, overshadowed any concern for her own safety.
