[Vic forced me to do this.]

Never have younger siblings, they'll steal all your French fries, scare you to death, change the radio when Green Day is on, ramble about an orphan with a lightning scar on his forehead, ramble about the Tragedy of some guy named Anakin, his wife and his kids and how sad it is, bla, bla, bla. The thing is that even they'll do all of that, you still won't hate them and that sucks.

[Yeah, sis, look how scared I am.]

Anyways, Vic's glaring at me and she says she'll ask Hermes to make the Green Day CDs more pricey if I don't start.

We were about to die. But this time, by mortals. Lame way to die. I'd rather being killed by some real big monster.

[Yes, Vic, I know I can take care of my stunning self and not be killed at all, thank you very much]

Well, the thing is-

[I WOULD'VE STARTED ALREADY IF YOU WEREN'T HERE, YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT]

Anyways, Vic left to go save Annabeth from being consumed by New Rome's library. They'll probably go get ice cream then and have a fancy non-planed date while I'm stuck here.

I know my sister though, Vic probably had it all figured out. She always does when it comes to have dates with Annabeth. It's weird that she plans stuff, because her schedule consists of 'figure a way to survive' and 'annoy Percy and Valentina' and 'be crazy in love with Annabeth'

But you guys aren't on that part yet, anyways, where was I? Oh, right.

Like I said, never have younger siblings. (Vic) They'll steal your not related siblings and date them. (Annabeth)

Okay, now I really have to start because when Vic comes back Annabeth will be with her.

So, we were on the van, about to die by the hand of some mortals. Shucks.

"They know the van," Percy said. "We have to ditch it."

Zoë swerved into the fast lane. The helicopter was gaining.

"Maybe the military will shoot it down," Grover said hopefully.

"The military probably thinks it's one of theirs," Percy said. "How can the General use mortals, anyway?"

"Mercenaries," Zoë said bitterly. "It is distasteful, but many mortals will fight for any cause as long as they are paid."

"But don't these mortals see who they're working for?" Dumb boy asked. "Don't they notice all the monsters around them?"

"If I wasn't dyslexic," Vic told Percy. "I'd spell Mist out for you."

Zoë shook her head. "I do not know how much they see through the Mist. I doubt it would matter to them if they knew the truth. Sometimes mortals can be more horrible than monsters."

Percy and Vic shared a look.

The helicopter kept coming, making a lot better time than we were through D.C. traffic.

I had an idea.

I closed my eyes and prayed hard. "Hey, Dad. A lightning bolt would be nice about now. Please?"

But the sky stayed grey and snowy. No sign of a helpful thunderstorm.

Vic looked at me weird.

'Yours are too destructive' I mouthed. She looked offended. And well... I didn't want to admit it, but BACK THEN (Now I'm better than her) I didn't control my powers as good as Vic.
