Days had passed by and it had been eerily silent in the city. The news had spread about Shigaraki's return but nothing has happened as of yet. You had to speak with way too many heroes and police officers to tell them what happened and how he had gotten out and even after explaining it hundreds of times, it was like they weren't grasping onto the reality of it.
You were forced to keep going to UA as days turned into weeks of nothing from the villains. You were now a little less than a month away from graduation and you had been doing nothing but tests upon tests from the teachers to see how capable you can be as a hero once you were done with school.
Mount Lady kept your internship, expressing her apologies on getting you involved and walking straight into their trap. She felt guilty for dragging you into that situation but the both of you couldn't hold onto it forever, some real changes needed to be done and plans needed to be made. All the heroes began to prepare for the reality of him coming up to destroy the city again.
You huffed out a breath as you slowly stepped onto the cemetery, your eyes adjusting to the large tombstone that had four names plastered on it. Your father, mother, brother and even your name for when the time comes where you may die.
Slowly, you began to sit on the grass in front of it as your heart began to clench at the pain that was still very intense. You set the bouquet of flowers down on the ground in front of you and swept the dirt away from the granite to clean it up some.
"I wish you were here to tell me what to do, dad." You whisper low, the realization of how truly alone you were in all of this.
Sure, Bakugou was there right behind you making sure you were healthy and safe above all but you knew this happy fairytale wasn't going to last very long and seeing Shigaraki in the flesh made it real again. You were going to have to fight him again and you came to the conclusion that you might die this time.
Deep down you weren't scared of death and you weren't terrified of the outcome. In some sick way, you felt a sense of peace of the realization that you could die. You felt a little happy that you would see your family again but the dread of leaving Bakugou behind and having him heartbroken is what kept you going and what made you keep fighting.
You placed your hand on the tombstone, sucking in a sharp breath as you closed your eyes. Your quirk made it possible to feel their bodies beneath this dirt, you felt the thousands of bodies that were buried deep within but for now, you focused on theirs and the weight of it all below.
In a way, it made you feel closer to them as you concentrated on feeling them there. You convinced yourself that you could still feel their spirits right beside you as a stray tear rolled down your cheek, the sadness swallowing you whole.
The sun was starting to set, the splashes of bright colors painted the sky nicely, people were slowly starting to leave and head back home for the curfew that was set in place once word got out about the villains plotting once again.
Honestly, you should be heading back but you couldn't bring yourself to leave as you finally opened up your eyes and stared down at the ground. After a few more minutes, though, you started to pull yourself up and stand on your feet.
Time went by again and the air remained quiet and tense as graduation for UA came around. You stood in front of the mirror, staring at yourself in a cap and gown before Bakugou walked inside of your dorm room with his on.
"You ready?" He asked quietly, knowing how hard it's been for you the last couple of days especially knowing your family won't be here today.
"Not really but yeah." You nodded, taking in a slow deep breath before turning towards him.
