A few days passed and every single day you had spent it in the hospital beside your father as he continued to stay in the coma he had put himself in. It was a brutal reminder of what he did for you and it was also a reminder of the broken relationship you two never got to fix.
You felt the shower of guilt consume you and drag you into the pits of hell that is your overthinking brain. You felt so bad that you couldn't stand leaving the hospital even if it was to sleep for the night in your bed then come back first thing in the morning. You ate the nasty hospital food and you got the small lectures from the nurses saying that you don't have to be here and that they'll call you if anything changes.
But you couldn't bring yourself to leave him here all alone. Even if he was asleep and most likely dreaming away about anything that was hopefully peaceful, you still felt bad for leaving him here by himself. So, you sat in the chair beside his bed and started talking about everything.
You confessed to him how you and Bakugou met, how you both argued and fought all the time because of how arrogant he was. You mentioned how he would call you a loser, a nobody and say your quirk was useless. How he saved you many times, even when he hated you he still saved you claiming it was because he didn't want to deal with the mess of having a student dead on campus.
Then he started to walk you home, he started to buy you lunch, then you both started to laugh together until one day you both kissed. Every little detail... besides the fact you hooked up with him inside of your dad's home. Maybe he couldn't hear but you hope he did because you felt obligated to tell your dad about the kid he decided to save for your sake.
Your dad knew nothing of him, you decided to try to change that by telling him this. Tell him about his personality, how much he's grown as a person and as a future hero. You even mentioned that Bakugou helped you grieve your mother's death properly and helped you get more confident in your quirk. He made you learn to love it instead of hating it.
As the day progressed, visiting hours were now over and you were sent out of the hospital. You gave your dad's hand a final squeeze before stepping out of the hospital and catching a bus ride home. Your phone vibrated in your pocket, the reminder that you had been avoiding everyone since your father had fell into a coma.

Everything okay? You stared at the message for a few minutes before releasing a painful sigh. On the bus ride back home, you stared out the window at the destruction that was slowly getting cleaned up by everyone. The citizens were slowly building back the city the way it was before. You watched their painful expressions as they cleaned up the gravel while still mourning their lost loved ones. It hurt to watch.
When the bus stopped at your stop, you grabbed your things and walked down the steps until your feet were planted on the concrete below. You still had a bit of a walk to your house, only about 10 minutes so, you started to walk while having your earbuds jammed in your ears with the music blaring.
The police and heroes have yet to bother you about what happened to Shigaraki because of your father. They decided to let you deal with that for a few days before they come to question you. You couldn't help but feel the huge weight being lifted off your shoulders. Another thing is... you felt safe.
As you were walking home, all you could feel is the safety wrapping you up and making you feel completely comfortable. You didn't have to look over your shoulder or have that doubt or worry lingering over you. You didn't think about anything except the music that filled your ears.
Maybe this was finally your time to be at peace and focus on something that you're supposed to which is graduate UA and become a hero.
Once you made it up your front porch, out of the corner of your eye you saw someone sitting on the porch swing, waiting for you. Your eyes flickered up and to your surprise, it was Shoto.
