"Hey!" I banged on the door. "Open up."

The door opened up and Chris stood there with a smile. "You need something, Parker?"

"You locked me out again." I said, crossing my arms.

"Well, yeah, I couldn't very well let you continue to walk into my apartment at all hours of the day when you should be with your friends."

I follow him inside and kick the door shut, trailing him until he sat on his couch in the living room, standing in front of him. "You're annoying, Chris Argent."

"Not as annoying as you, Parker Hale." He said, then got back on topic. "What's got you knocking on my door at one in the afternoon?"

"You know how you can't get a song out of your head, but you can't think of the lyrics?"

He dipped his head in a nod. "Yes, I'm aware of that. Why? Do you have a song stuck in your head?"

"No. I think..I think it's a person, but I don't know. My mind just keeps drawing a blank." I answered.

"I have a remedy for that." He got up and took my shirt sleeve, leading me into the kitchen. "You still like baking when you're frustrated, right? Clears your head?"

"Yeah."

"Great. So get the cookbook out. We're making cookies."

"My favorite!" I said excitedly, walking over to the kitchen counter and sliding a cookbook out of place.

"I know they are." Chris said with a smile, taking the book from me as I walked back over to him. "We make them every time you come over. Which, by the way, has been well over three months. Happy four month-iversary."

"Chris, we're not dating. You don't have to call it that."

"Okay, we're not dating." He shrugged, leaning back against the counter and crossing his arms. "What do you call what we've been doing?"

"Me, personally? I call it "distraction", what do you call it?" I reach around him and flip open to the page for a chocolate chip cookies recipe.

He opens his mouth to answer, then closes it with a shake of his head. "Never mind. Doesn't matter. What does matter is that you are no longer hounding me about getting a girlfriend."

"Oh, I'm still gonna hound you about that, Chris, don't you worry." I lightly tap his chest with the back of the book.

"I thought we agreed no more of that since..you know.." he said.
