Kiaan looked up at Aashika with big, round eyes. "Mumma, when will you come back?" he said, his small voice filled with questions.
Aashika's heart ached as she looked at Kiaan, knowing that she couldn't give him a definitive answer. "Soon, baby," she said, trying to sound reassuring.
Kiaan's face lit up with hope. "Really, Mumma?" he asked, his small voice filled with excitement.
Aashika nodded, trying to hold back her tears. "Yes, baby."
" Mumma, if I tell police uncle I killed arsh uncle, so they will leave you."
Aashika's eyes widened in horror as she listened to Kiaan's words. She quickly put her fingers on his lips, trying to silence him. "Kiaan, you will never tell anyone that," she whispered urgently. "Your mumma is here to protect you."
Kiaan looked up at Aashika with innocent eyes, not understanding why his mother was reacting this way. "But Mumma, I want to tell the truth," he said, his small voice filled with conviction.
Aashika's grip on Kiaan's lips tightened, her heart racing with fear. "No, Kiaan, you must never tell anyone that you killed Arsh," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "You don't understand, baby, but it's not safe. Your mumma will take care of everything. Just promise me you'll never say anything. I will come out soon."
Kiaan's face scrunched up in confusion, but he nodded slowly, still looking up at Aashika with trusting eyes. "Okay, Mumma," he said, his small voice barely above a whisper, " but mumma, when you come out, we'll live together, me, you, and Papa and sai and savi aunty," he said, his small voice filled with hope.
Aashika's heart ached as she listened to Kiaan's words. She too had once dreamed of living together as a family, but now it seemed like an impossible dream. Rajat had moved on, and she couldn't blame him.
She forced a smile, not wanting to crush Kiaan's spirits. "We'll see, baby," she said, trying to sound neutral. "But for now, promise me you will not tell anyone the truth."
Kiaan's eyes widened as he looked up at Aashika, his small face set in a determined expression. "I promise, Mumma," he said, his voice firm. "I won't tell anyone the truth."
Aashika's eyes filled with tears as she hugged Kiaan tightly. "Thank you, baby," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "Your mumma will always be grateful to you."
" Mumma dadi says, you are wrong and bad and I always fight with her that she is lying."
Aashika's heart sank as she heard Kiaan's words. She knew that his Dadi had always been against her, but to hear that she was poisoning Kiaan's mind against her was devastating.
"No, baby, they're not right," Aashika said, trying to sound calm. "Mumma is not bad. Mumma loves you and would never do anything to hurt you."
Kiaan looked up at Aashika with uncertain eyes. "But Dadi says you did bad things, Mumma," he said, his small voice filled with doubt.
Aashika took a deep breath and hugged Kiaan tightly. "Dadi doesn't understand, baby," she said. "Mumma did what she had to do to protect us. But that doesn't mean we're bad people. We're just people who made some mistakes. And I made some mistakes."
Aashika's heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces as she looked at Kiaan, her precious son who was the only thing she had left. She had already lost everything: her freedom, her reputation. And now, she was on the verge of losing the one person who mattered most to her - Kiaan.
