Savi knelt among the colorful blocks and giggling children, her eyes sparkling with joy. She helped a tiny hand build a wobbly tower, her voice singing a nursery rhyme.

"Look, kids! We made a castle!"

The children cheered, and Savi's heart swelled. This was her happy place – surrounded by innocence and laughter.

No one would guess that this radiant teacher was once a driven, ambitious woman, determined to shatter glass ceilings as an IPS officer. Life had taken a devastating turn, but in this classroom, Savi found solace.

Among these little ones, she saw her lost child – the one she'd never get to hold or teach. Her gaze lingered on a curious-eyed girl, and Savi's smile faltered for a moment. The ache still lingered, but it was manageable here.

Savi's father, late Virat Chavan, was inspiration for her to pursue UPSC. She'd wanted to make his soul proud, to be a force for change. But losing her child had shifted her priorities. The pain of losing a part of herself outweighed any professional ambition.

As the children played, Savi's thoughts drifted to Ishan. His memory still brought a mix of sadness and warmth. He'd understand why she chose this path, why these little ones brought her peace.

The preschool's vibrant atmosphere enveloped her, and Savi's heart felt whole again. This was her new purpose – nurturing young minds, finding comfort in their smiles.

"Teacher Savi, story time!" a tiny voice exclaimed.

Savi's eyes lit up. "Oh, yes! Let's get cozy!"

As she began reading, her voice wove a spell of enchantment. The children listened, captivated. Savi's soul, once broken, now healed with each passing day.

"Today, kids, I have a special story for you," Savi announced, her eyes twinkling.

The children settled in, curious.

"Once upon a time, in a world filled with sparkles and dreams, there was a brave queen named Savitri." Savi's voice wove a spell.

"Queen Savitri had a beautiful kingdom, full of laughter and love. But one day, a dark cloud took away her precious little prince." Savi's voice trembled, but she continued.

"The queen was heartbroken. She searched far and wide for her prince, but he was gone. The kingdom's colors faded, and the laughter silenced."

The children listened intently, sensing the depth of Savi's emotions.

"But Queen Savitri refused to give up. She found solace in the kingdom's children, teaching them to laugh and dream again." Savi's eyes met the children's.

"As she told them stories, her heart began to heal. The kingdom's colors returned, and laughter filled the air."

A tiny hand reached out, touching Savi's.

"Did the queen find her prince?" a small voice asked.

Savi's smile was bittersweet. "The prince will always be in her heart, but she found new joy in the kingdom's children."

The children nodded, understanding.

"Teacher Savi, you're the queen!" another child exclaimed.

Savi's eyes welled up, but she smiled. "Maybe just a little bit."

As the story ended, the children hugged Savi, their innocence and love enveloping her.

In that moment, Savi knew she'd made the right choice. These little ones were her new kingdom, her heart's refuge.
