But as Rajat stepped forward, his deep voice surprised her. "Savi, I... I wanted to apologize," he said, his words measured and sincere. "For the way I've treated you in the past. I was wrong to keep Sai away from you. You care deeply for her, and I appreciate that."

Savi's grip on Sai relaxed, her eyes widening in shock as she processed Rajat's words. Apologize? Rajat, the man who had always seemed so cold and distant, was apologizing to her? She felt a flutter in her chest, a sense of surprise and wonder that left her speechless.

Sai's innocent voice cut through the tension, her big brown eyes gazing up at Savi with concern. "Savi teacher, are you fine now?" she asked, her small hand reaching out to touch Savi's face.

Savi's heart swelled with emotion as she looked at Sai, her eyes welling up with tears. She nodded, trying to compose herself, but Sai's next words undid her completely.

"Thank you for saving me that day," Sai said, her voice filled with gratitude. "I was so scared, but you came and saved me."

Savi's tears spilled over, and she pulled Sai into a tight hug, holding her close as she sobbed. Rajat's apology had touched her heart, but Sai's words had shattered her completely, releasing a flood of emotions she had been holding back for so long.

As Sai's words hung in the air, Savi's heart skipped a beat. "You are my Pari mumma," Sai had said, the word "mumma" slipping out of her mouth like a term of endearment. Savi's eyes locked onto Sai's, and she felt a surge of emotion wash over her. It was a word she had longed to hear, a word that had been denied to her when she lost her own unborn child.

As she gazed at Sai, Savi's eyes began to well up with tears. She felt a lump form in her throat, and she struggled to speak. But before she could respond, Isha Maa intervened, gently taking Sai into her arms.

"Sai beta, she is your aunty," Isha Maa said softly, her eyes meeting Savi's with a deep understanding. "And now, let Savi teacher take some rest. She must be tired, right?"

As Isha Maa spoke, she glanced at Savi, her expression a subtle reminder that Savi needed to be careful, that she couldn't afford to get too attached. Savi's eyes dropped, and she nodded, feeling a pang of sadness. But as she looked up at Isha Maa, she saw a glimmer of compassion in her eyes, and she knew that Isha Maa understood her pain.

As Isha Maa left the room with Sai, Rajat remained, his eyes fixed on Savi. She settled onto her bed, her eyes meeting his, and asked, "Do you want to say something, Mr. Thakkar? If it's about keeping me away from your daughter, then please, just go."

Savi's hands folded across her chest, a defensive gesture that spoke volumes about her emotional state. But Rajat surprised her by shaking his head, his expression softening. "No, it's not that," he said, his deep voice gentle. "May I sit on this chair? I want to talk, please."

Rajat's request was polite, his demeanor calm and respectful. Savi's guard remained up, but she nodded curtly, her eyes never leaving his face. "Please, sit," she said, her voice neutral. Rajat sat down in the chair, his eyes locked on Savi's, and began to speak in a low, measured tone.

"I am extremely sorry Savi.", Rajat said. Savi was neutral and not looking at him Her eyes were fixed on some point beyond his shoulder.

"For which fault?" she asked, her voice detached.

The question was a challenge, a test of Rajat's sincerity. Savi's words implied that she had been wronged in multiple ways, and she wanted to know which specific fault Rajat was apologizing for. The air was thick with tension as Rajat hesitated, collecting his thoughts before responding.

Rajat's words spilled out in a rush, his apology heartfelt and sincere. "For everything," he said, his voice filled with remorse. "For passing comments on your motherhood, for keeping you away from Sai, for the drama I created that day when I was drunk... for everything, I am sorry."

As Rajat spoke, Savi's expression slowly changed, her guard dropping ever so slightly. She looked at him, really looked at him, and saw the genuine regret in his eyes. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the only sound the quiet hum of the room.

Savi's eyes searched Rajat's face, looking for any sign of insincerity, but all she saw was a deep-seated remorse. She felt a lump form in her throat as she processed his apology, her emotions swirling in a mix of surprise, gratitude, and wariness.

"And thank you for saving my daughter that day," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I realized that you genuinely care for her. You are her good teacher, you can never spoil her."

Savi's eyes welled up with tears as she listened to Rajat's words. No one had ever acknowledged her love and care for Sai like that before. Not even her Isha Maa.

The weight of Rajat's past behavior lifted off her shoulders, replaced by a sense of understanding and mutual respect.

As she looked at Rajat, Savi saw a different person, one who was willing to listen, to understand, and to apologize. She smiled, a small, tentative smile, and nodded her head in acceptance.

She looked at Rajat with a calm, gentle expression, her eyes seeming to say that she had come to terms with the reality of the situation.

"It's okay, Mr. Thakkar," she said, her voice soft and measured. "But the reality is that I am not Sai's mother, and at your place, you were right." She paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "But it's okay. You apologized, and I forgive."

Rajat's eyes locked onto Savi's, his gaze filled with a deep appreciation for her words. He nodded slowly, his expression somber, as if acknowledging the truth of her statement. The air between them seemed to vibrate with a sense of closure, a sense of wounds being healed, and a new beginning being forged.

Rajat's eyes dropped, his gaze falling to the floor as a wave of shame washed over him. He felt a deep regret for the way he had treated Savi in the past, for the pain and hurt he had caused her. He took a deep breath, his chest heavy with emotion, and asked Savi for his leave.

"May I go?" he asked, his voice low and subdued.

Savi nodded, her expression soft and understanding. "Yes, you may go," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rajat nodded, his eyes still cast downward. He turned and walked away, his footsteps quiet and deliberate. As he left the room, Savi watched him go, her heart filled with a mix of emotions - sadness, forgiveness, and a sense of closure. The door closed behind Rajat, and Savi was left alone with her thoughts, the silence a palpable reminder of the weight that had been lifted from her shoulders.
