Even after Rajat scolded sai. Sai's mind was at chocolate. She thought if papa threw his cutie doggy chocolate. Where her chocolate would go. An idea popped in her mind and she stood up.
Sai leave the house secretly with her chocolate so that her papa wouldn't see.
She stood at Savi's doorstep, Chocolate wagging his tail beside her.
"Pwease, Savi Teacher!" Sai's tiny hands clasped together, her face scrunched in a cute pout.
Savi's heart melted. "What is it, little one?"
Sai's eyes sparkled. "Papa scolded me. He said I spend too much time with Chocolate and not enough studying."
Savi's expression softened. "What do you need, Sai?"
"Can you keep Chocolate for a few days? Papa said he'll throw him out! Where will my chocolate then go. I am his mumma and he will crave for me. So if you take it for few days, me and he will not cry." Sai's voice trembled.
Savi's eyes narrowed, a ping of annoyance toward Rajat. Even though she never talk to that Thakkar yet but she knew the gaze he gave it to her when she met sai. She knew he didn't like her presence in his daughter's life but for that he had to be a good parent. Little sai is craving for love and that man just give strictness to her. And she could give sai love. So she will not spare sai by his that ugly look he gave it to her.
How could he scold such a sweet child?
"Sai, you're an excellent student. Why is your father pressuring you?" Savi asked, concern etched on her face.
Sai shrugged. "Papa wants me to study more."
Savi hugged Sai. "Don't worry, Chocolate will stay with me. And we'll show your papa that you can excel your study by not sacrificing. "
Tara arrived, "Sai, beta, your Papa's calling. He's not happy."
Sai's eyes drooped, her face falling. She knew her papa would scold her for sneaking out but she had to do that for her chocolate.
"Time to go," Tara coaxed, gently prying Sai from Savi's doorstep.
Sai's gaze lingered on Savi, her eyes moist.
"I want to play," Sai whispered, her voice trembling.
Tara hurriedly pulled Sai away.
Savi watched, concern etched on her face.
"But why? She was having so much fun, I hate that whatever Thakkar that man is!"
Chocolate, sensing Savi's unease, nuzzled her hand.
Savi patted Chocolate, her thoughts lingering on Sai. That girl already didn't have mother and his father being so unreasonable.
"How can someone be so harsh with such a sweet child?" Savi thought.
Savi brewed coffee, lost in thought.
Isha returned from the market, vegetables in hand.
"Chocolate! Get out!" Isha shouted, spotting the dog.
Savi rushed to intervene.
"Maa, he's a good boy!" Savi soothed.
Isha's expression softened.
"Savi, beta, you're getting too attached to Sai," Isha thought, staying silent.
Over coffee, Savi vented.
"Sai's father is so strict! Poor child can't even play. What he think of himself. Angry jerk man."
Isha cautioned.
