After Wedding. At 3:00 pm....
The Thakkar family had decided to wait for Rajat at Savi's maternal home, rather than returning to their own house without him. They had gathered in the living room, looking anxious and worried.
Bhagyashree, seated on the sofa next to Isha, turned to her and said, "Isha ji, we don't want to leave Savi behind. We want to make sure she's okay."
Isha, her expression calm and reassuring, nodded. "Of course, Bhagyashree ji. Savi is my daughter. You all can wait here for Rajat to return."
Bhagyashree's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Isha. "Thank you, Isha ji. This means a lot to us. We just want to make sure Savi is safe and happy."
Isha placed a gentle hand on Bhagyashree's arm. "Don't worry, Bhagyashree ji. Savi is my daughter. I'll take care of her. You all just focus on finding Rajat and bringing him back home."
Tara, seated on the floor nearby, looked up at Bhagyashree. "Mummy, what if Rajat doesn't come back tonight?"
Bhagyashree's expression turned determined. "We'll wait for him, beta. We'll wait as long as it takes. We're his family, and we'll support him no matter what. And Savi is also our family now. If that donkey son of mine did anything wrong. I will see him."
Riddhi, seated next to Tara, nodded in agreement. "Yes, Mummy's right. We have to be strong for Rajat and Savi."
As the conversation continued, Savi, seated in a corner of the room, looked on quietly, feeling grateful for the love and support of her new family. She knew that she had made the right decision in marrying Rajat, and she was determined to stand by him if he was in some problem.
Meanwhile, Bhagyashree stood up, a look of determination on her face. "I'll go make some tea for everyone. We'll wait here for Rajat, together, as a family."
As Bhagyashree headed towards the kitchen, Isha called out to her. "Bhagyashree ji, don't worry. Rajat will come back. He loves Savi, and he'll do what's right."
Bhagyashree turned back, a small smile on her face. "Thank you, Isha ji. Your words mean a lot to me."
At 6:00 pm....
Savi still sat on the plush sofa in the living room, her bridal finery rustling softly as she shifted uncomfortably. Sai, sensing her mother's unease, snuggled closer to Savi's side, her big brown eyes gazing up at her with concern.
Bhagyashree, resplendent in her own elegant outfit, paced back and forth across the room, her phone clutched tightly in her hand. "Where could he be?" she muttered to herself, her brow furrowed with worry.
Dolly Bua, seated in an armchair nearby, looked on anxiously, her eyes darting between Savi and Bhagyashree. "Beta, don't worry," she said, trying to reassure Savi. "Rajat will come back. He must have had some emergency."
Savi's eyes dropped to her lap, where her hands were clenched together in a tight knot. "But why isn't he answering our calls?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Tara and Riddhi, seated on the floor nearby, exchanged worried glances. "Maybe his phone is dead," Tara suggested, trying to sound optimistic.
But Bhagyashree shook her head. "No, I've tried calling him multiple times. He's just not picking up."
The room fell silent, the only sound the soft hum of the air conditioner and the distant chatter of the wedding guests. Savi's eyes began to well up with tears, and she hastily blinked them back, not wanting to ruin her makeup.
Just then, Bhagyashree stopped pacing and turned to Savi. "Beta, let's not worry too much. Rajat will come back, and we'll do your Grahpravesh ceremony. But for now, let's just wait a little longer."
