The morning sunlight streaming through the windows highlighted the lively scene unfolding in the Thakkar residence. Bhagyashree, dressed in her favorite faded tracksuit, her hair tied up in a loose ponytail, was dancing energetically to the loud music blasting from the living room speakers. Her hips swayed to the beat, and her arms waved in the air as she sang along to the lyrics, her voice slightly off-key.
In the kitchen, Rajat sat at the dining table, enjoying his aaloo ka parathas, which Bhagyashree had lovingly prepared for him. The aroma of freshly cooked parathas and brewing tea filled the air, making his stomach growl with anticipation. Bhagyashree danced over to the table, parathas in hand, and set them down in front of Rajat with a flourish.
"Here you go, beta! Eat up, and don't worry about the mess, I'll clean it up later!" she exclaimed, winking at him. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, and her face glowed with a warm smile.
Rajat chuckled and shook his head good-naturedly, "Ma, you're something else!" He took a bite of his paratha, savoring the delicious flavors of the spicy potatoes and crispy bread. The combination was perfect, and he couldn't help but let out a satisfied sigh.
Bhagyashree beamed with pride, happy to see her son enjoying her cooking. She continued to dance around the kitchen, singing along to the music, her movements carefree and joyful. The music was loud, but the Thakkar family had grown accustomed to Bhagyashree's love of loud music and dancing. It was just a normal part of their daily routine.
As Bhagyashree danced, she occasionally glanced at the clock on the wall, keeping an eye on the time. She knew Isha would be arriving soon to take Savi for the pagphera rasam, and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect for the occasion.
In her room, Savi was getting ready for the day, oblivious to the lively scene unfolding in the living room. She was busy styling her hair and applying a light layer of makeup, lost in her own thoughts. The sound of loud music and Bhagyashree's laughter drifted into her room, but she barely registered it, too focused on her own preparations.
As Savi finished getting ready, she slipped on her sandals and headed out of her room, ready to face the day ahead.
As Savi stepped out of her room, she was greeted by the sight of Bhagyashree dancing energetically in the living room, lost in the music. Just then, the doorbell rang, and Bhagyashree, still dancing, made her way to the door to answer it.
As she flung open the door, she collided with Isha, who was standing on the other side with a warm smile on her face. Bhagyashree's music was still blasting in the background, and Isha Maa's eyes widened in surprise as she took in the scene.
"Bhagyashree, you can never change, can you?" Isha Maa exclaimed, laughing. "Even after becoming samdhi, you're still the same!"
Bhagyashree chuckled, unfazed by the collision. "I thought now that we're related, you'd learn to adjust!" she said with a grin. "Aapko toh pata hi hai... how much I love dancing to my loud music!"
Isha Maa playfully rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "I should have known better than to expect anything less from you, Bhagyashree! But anyway, I'm here to take Savi for the pagphera rasam. Is she ready or you dont tell her in your addiction of loud sound?"
Bhagyashree: "Oh, Isha, you're still complaining about my music? You're going to have to get used to it, samdhi or not!"
Isha Maa: "I'm not complaining, Bhagyashree, I'm just stating facts. You're going to wake up the whole neighborhood with that racket!"
Bhagyashree: "Racket? This is music, Isha! You just don't have any taste!"
Just as it seemed like the banter was going to escalate, Rajat intervened, taking Isha's side. "Ma, come on, not so loud. Isha Maa has a point. We don't want to disturb the neighbors."
Bhagyashree's face fell, and she pretended to be hurt. "Oh, so now you're taking Isha's side? Now that you're married, you don't care about your poor mother anymore?"
Rajat chuckled and shook his head. "Ma, don't be dramatic. I'm just trying to keep the peace."
Bhagyashree fake-cried, her voice rising to a comically exaggerated level. "Oh, my son has abandoned me! I'm all alone in this world, with no one to care for me!"
Isha Maa and Rajat burst out laughing at Bhagyashree's antics, and Savi couldn't help but giggle too. "Ma, stop it! You're being ridiculous!" Rajat exclaimed, shaking his head in amusement.
Savi stepped forward, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Actually, Isha Maa, I think Mummy ji's music is kind of fun. It's always so lively and energetic around here!"
Bhagyashree's face lit up with a triumphant smile. "See, Isha? Even Savi agrees with me!"
Isha Maa's expression turned mock-hurt, and she fake-cried, her voice rising to a comically exaggerated level. "Oh, my daughter has become parai! She's taken the side of the loud music lady! What have I done to deserve this?"
Savi chuckled and shook his head. "Isha Maa, stop it! You're being dramatic again!"
Bhagyashree grinned, enjoying the lighthearted banter. "Ha! Isha, you can't handle a little bit of music! You're just jealous because you can't dance like me!"
Isha Maa playfully shot back, "Oh, I can dance just fine, thank you very much! I just choose not to make a racket about it!"
Savi giggled at the exchange, happy to see her loved ones joking and laughing together.
After a few more rounds of good-natured banter, Isha Maa turned to Rajat with a sly smile. "Rajat, beta, don't think that just because you're married, you can forget about your poor mother. We're still neighbors, after all."
Rajat chuckled and nodded. "Of course, Isha Maa. I'll make sure to visit often."
Isha Maa's expression turned serious, and she said, "Tonight, you'll come to pick up your wife, my Savi. She won't come without you. Okie?"
Rajat smiled and nodded. "Okie, Isha Maa. I'll be there to pick her up."
Bhagyashree, who had been watching the exchange, grinned mischievously. "Don't worry, Isha. I'll make sure Rajat behaves himself."
Isha Maa shot Bhagyashree a mock-warning look. "I'm counting on you, Bhagyashree. Don't let him get into any trouble."
Savi rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "I think I can handle myself, Isha Maa."
Isha Maa smiled and patted Savi's hand. "I know you can, beta. But still, I'll feel better knowing Rajat is there to take care of you."
Savi walked over to Bhagyashree and gave her a warm hug. "Mummy ji, Sai and Kiaan ka dhyaan rakhna, okay?" she said, her voice filled with affection.
Bhagyashree hugged Savi back tightly, her eyes shining with love. "Of course, beta. Don't worry, I'll take good care of them. And if Sai asks for you, I'll tell her to come to you, okay?"
Savi nodded, smiling. "Thanks, Maa. I'll be back soon."
Bhagyashree patted Savi's back reassuringly. "We'll be fine, beta. Go and enjoy your pagphera rasam. We'll see you tonight."
"And don't forget to eat something, okay?"
Savi smiled and took the pouch, tucking it into her purse. "Thanks, Maa. I will."
