Chapter 16: Boredom

In the middle of class, Sasuke couldn't stop kicking himself about the day he tried to make a move on Momo the other day. He could not sleep through out the night, knowing how much it haunts him now.

And now he's looking forward to having lunch with her today, unaware of what's coming to him. He sighed while cradling his head in his hand. Probably going to humiliate myself again.

His gray eyes wondered over to the brunette sitting by him, her face planted on her desk with a book shielding her head from the teacher's attention as little Z's were floating over her body. Akane snored quietly until Sasuke hit his foot against the leg of her desk.

She sat up abruptly with a string of drool hanging from her chin. "GOAT!"

All eyes shifted to her as their instructor, Kakashi, paused with a marker hovering the board. "No, Akane, twelve times thirty-two is not goat." Then the class erupted in laughter. "A high schooler like yourself should know your multiplication."

"S-Sorry, sir. I was.. just kidding," she waved. Sasuke tried to hold in his laughs by burying his head in his arms with shaking shoulders. Akane shot him a glare, knowing the culprit who resulted her embarrassment. Towards the end of the period, she attempted to throw a punch at the raven but failed miserably.

"I HATE YOU! I was having a great dream, too!" she yelled while the Uchiha began to pack his things. "Dreaming about goats, huh?" he chuckled, winning an embarrassed blush by her.

"That is none of your business," she spat. Noticing Sasuke making his leave out the door, Akane chased after him hurriedly with a baffled face. "W-Wait, are you going to eat lunch with Momo?" He turned, nodding, "Yeah."

"Can I come with? I only packed myself sweets again," she turned red while holding her container full of sponge cakes. But he eyed her carefully before letting out a breath. "Uh, not today, sorry," he answered sadly, although he wanted Akane to join them but Momo's words echoed in his ears. "You know, just me and her time."

The brunette made an astounded expression with weight coming upon her shoulders. "Oh, then that's okay. Go get her cute a-"

"Please don't say it," he stopped her, noticing a few eyes glancing at Akane's outburst. She only giggled to herself and waved innocently at him. "I'm cheering for you~" she sang. Sasuke smiled back at her before departing, and then on his way to where Momo is waiting on the roof. While he was gone, a pinkette wondered to her with a curious outlook.

"Where's Sasuke?"

"You just missed him," Akane answered and then grinned. "He's enjoying his quality time with his girlfriend."

"That again?" Sakura questioned, causing the brunette to stare wondrously at her. "You two were always together though." Shrugging, Akane simply brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal to her. Why would she be upset if her best friend chooses to hang out with Momo instead of her? In second thought, it does sound hurtful if she thinks deeply.

So Akane simply laughed. "Oh well, that's how it's going to be if you're in a relationship, right?" In all honesty, she just doesn't know.

Later that day, Sasuke established his lunch date with Momo to be a success after all. Sitting down with lunch bentos around him, being fed by his beautiful girl, nothing sounds more appeasing than that.

The bell rang, compelling student to go home for the day. As the Uchiha walked aimlessly out of the building, his pair of eyes found a certain brown headed girl sauntering her way out of the front entrance in ease. Gaining up on her, Sasuke hurried and caught up with her. "Akane!"

She turned by his sudden voice calling her, and then smiled widely. "Hey, you! What's up?"

"Going to get more banana sundaes?" he questioned, listening to his friend hum and then shaking her head. "No, not today. I'm meeting up with Arai right now, so we can walk home together," she explained.

"Is that so?" his mouth faltered. Realizing the mood he's emitting, Akane patted his back encouragingly and stifled a chuckled. "Aw, how about you?" He glanced at her. "Aren't you going to walk home with Momo?"

Mumbling to himself, the idea of it never crossed his mind. "N-Not really. I already hung out with her today," he said. "I was just thinking of walking with you first, and then going home after you meet Arai."

Sasuke was caught off guard when he sees the brunette shaking her head at him, placing her hands on her hips proudly. "No can do, Sasu! As surprising as it sounds, you have to put Momo first before me! Right now, you need to know that your beautiful girlfriend gets home safely." He objected by groaning.

"But-"

"No but's, and your butt! You want to be a good boyfriend, right?"

"Yeah, but-"

"Sasu~" she warned with a smile, pointing her finger at him strictly. "If you can't do it for yourself, at least do it for her." This time, Sasuke was in defeat. Akane knows how to press his buttons. Sighing, he has no choice to accept the suggestion, knowing this isn't going anywhere.

"Fine..." Then Akane cheered, patting his shoulder once more. "You'll thank me later! Well, I got'z to go'z. Arai is waiting," she told him. "Think of it as homework! I'm sure it will benefit you if you just do it, even if you don't want to."

Sasuke nodded as he watched her leave off of school grounds and waited stubbornly against the brick wall for the dark headed girl to come out of the building. Kicking the floor, he shown no motivation or eagerness to see Momo again.

Finally, he spots the blue eyed beauty exchanging shoes from her locker, and then walking out of the building to meet him. She looked amazed. "Sasuke-kun! Were you waiting for me?"

"Uh, yeah. I figured I should walk you home, so that way I know you're safe." Repeating from Akane's instruction, it won him a pleasing smile from Momo as she walked towards his side. "Really?! I'm so flattered, thank you!" she squealed.

While holding hands, Momo's expression dropped once she sees the raven not making eye contact with her. Instead, his solemn eyes were glued elsewhere, not paying attention to her or the road. Sasuke seemed bothered, or perhaps, bored.

Seeing this attitude from him, it made her awfully worry.
