Chapter 27: Romeo, Oh No

Akane heard a disturbing rustle coming from outside of her window, stopping herself from chowing down her creamy chicken ramen. A frightful tingle crawled up her spine as a few branches scratched scratched against her window pane, shaking violently.

Is a robber breaking into her home?

Holding her plastic fork in her hand above her head, she got into a stance and tiptoed to the window step by step with her back against the wall.

Just when she slid it open, Akane threw her white fork at the suspicious person peeping in her bedroom, watching it soar at his face. "THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU~!"

"Ow!" A familiar voice yelled. She finally saw the person after making her attack, and witnessed her best friend struggling to climb up the tree by her house.

Sasuke is climbing up a tree, with his arms and legs wrapped to its core.

"Sasuke, what the hell?!" Akane slammed her hands on her sill. "What, the actual fuck, are you doing?!"

He waved his arm up as he still continued to pull himself up to the level of her window. "H-Help me up."

"No!" She refused. "There's this thing called a door, you know! Why didn't you text or call me that you were coming?!"

"Just freaking help me!" Out of nowhere, they both spot a finger-sized beetle reaching to tough Sasuke's shirt to climb on. Waving his arm above him, he signaled for Akane to grab him which she luckily accepts and pulls his body in through her window.

Losing his footing on her sill, the Uchiha fell forward and trapped the brunette on her white carpet with his body on top of hers.

"You can get your face off of my boobies now," Akane warned angrily with a hidden blush coloring her nose.

Sasuke sat up in a panic, throwing his hands up in defense. "Sorry." He wanted to slap himself in that moment.

"What the hell were you doing?" she accused him again while rubbing her arms soothingly. "Explain yourself, Romeo. You snuck into the wrong princess's house tonight. Shouldn't you be with Momo-"

Frozen in her spot, a pair of arms wrapped possessively around her body as Akane was embraced by Sasuke, pulling her into his chest suddenly. She was wordless by the action but her voice smothered against his shoulder.

"S-Sasuke, hey," an undeniable blush came through, tinting her cheeks once more. "What's with you?"

As half of her face was buried in his chest, Akane can make out the faint sounds of his heart beat pacing steadily. Is he nervous?

Sasuke didn't say anything other than securing her in his arms tightly. It was like he was desperate for her, now that he ended his relationship with Momo.

He finally let go. But when Akane glanced up at him questionably, his hand found his face. "Uh, sorry... I don't mean to make it so worrisome."

Getting her attention now, the brunette planted her hands on both side of his face, drawing his eyes to look directly at her solid brown ones. "Hey, did something happened?" she asked in concern. "You don't seem like yourself."

After what felt like minutes of staring into her bubbly image, a calming smile crept pass his lips.

"Did I ever tell you how important you are to me?" with a brush of his fingers, he caressed Akane's bright cheek surely.

Horrified by the sudden change of mood, her hands released Sasuke's face as she was baffled, or should say taken, of his boldness.

"Sasuke, you're freaking me out. Something's definitely wrong with you," she said flatly. Disappointed by her reaction, he pouted stubbornly.
