Chapter 17: Momo's Kiss
"D-Do I look okay?" Momo mumbled shyly to herself while averting her eyes down at her attire. Sasuke rubbed the small of her back, giving an encouragingly smile before they stepped onto the porch of his own house.
"You're beautiful," he complimented, winning an embarrassed blush by her. She nodded happily, then watched the Uchiha ring out his keys and unlocking his front door.
Entering his sweet-scented home, they were greeted by Sasuke's tall mother with a white apron tied around her small waist, smiling at the two. "Welcome home, Sasuke! Is that your girlfriend?" she questioned hurriedly, Mikoto's matching onyx eyes flew over to Momo.
She blushed uncontrollably and muttered out a timid "hi", making his mother squeal in excitement. "My, you are so gorgeous! Where did you pick this one up, dear?"
"Akane found her, mom," Sasuke reluctantly replied. She clapped while leading them into the kitchen where plates are already assembled on the dining table.
"Bless her!" she chanted, giggling. "Excuse me if I'm acting so strange, Momo. I've been waiting for this day for a very long time. It's so rare for my son to bring home such a lovely girl other than Akane."
Momo chuckled nervously as she took her seat beside Sasuke. "N-No need." Eventually, another figure appeared in the room, pushing his dark locks from his face. Fugaku finally noticed the stranger in the house.
"Hello, sir," Momo smiled kindly.
"Ah, this is the girl that you were talking about," he said to Sasuke. "Nice to meet you, I'm Fugaku Uchiha. I hope my son is not causing you any trouble."
She shook her head. "No, sir, Sasuke-kun is been amazing to me." Sasuke smirked to himself by her attentiveness. At first he was nervous of bringing Momo over to meet his family for the first time, but there is nothing to worry coming from her.
As Mikoto brought out all the variety of food, an older version of Sasuke entered the lively room with his baggy eyes noticing Momo's foreign presence. "Oh, for a second, I thought it was Akane," Itachi said to himself, but smiled gently at her. "Hello."
"H-Hi! And you are...?"
"Itachi, Sasuke's older brother, in the flesh," he added teasingly. Sasuke slightly glared at him.
"Speaking of Akane, did you invite her over? This is a family dinner, and it's not a family dinner without her," Mikoto spoke from the kitchen. Looking over at Momo, she had a lingering face on whenever her name is spoken several times in this house. Sasuke felt uneasy.
"She said she's out with her boyfriend's family," he shared. Itachi's eyes glanced up in surprise.
"Akane has a boyfriend?" he then sighed in defeat. "I'm disappointed. I thought I would have a chance by her next birthday."
Sasuke gave him a stink face. "Sick bastard..."
"Son, you know how your mother doesn't approve your swearing at the table," his father scolded.
"That's too bad," Mikoto said while she walked into the room with a plate full of steamed string beans. "I made a strawberry shortcake for her. How about you, Momo? Would you like some desserts after?"
Shaking her head, Momo waved her hands defensively. "Th-That's okay. I don't like sweets." Then Mikoto eyed her in amazement as if she was in deep in thought by her answer. Smiling softly, the raven beauty sat down on the table with them.
"You and Sasuke are alike," she told her. "Now let's eat up, shall we?"
The family ate in peace while knowing more about Momo. She was calm and relaxed the whole time when everyone done a questionnaire about her life goals and hobbies.
They definitely approve her as Sasuke's one and only, or in other words, soulmate. It drove them to the edge of popping the subject about marriage and kids which made the young Uchiha uncomfortable about the idea.
Eventually, after dinner, Mikoto introduced Momo down in memory lane of the Uchiha household.
"Now this is Sasuke on his first birthday! Isn't he cute?" Mikoto shoved a photo album towards blue eyed beauty who sees a semi-crying miniature raven in his chair with a birthday cake. "And this is the time when he leaves for his first day of school! He wouldn't stop clinging onto me, thinking that I would abandon him."
Momo was fascinated by multiple photos of Sasuke in this album from his newborn form to his recent birthday. It was a surprise how much he transformed to the person he is.
Then her eyes found a familiar face on the next page. "Is that...?"
Mikoto nodded happily. "Yep! This is when Sasuke brought Akane over for the first time, and the first day we met her. This is when they were six." After that first page, Momo began to see more and more images of the brunette appearing in Sasuke's lifelong photo album, growing up with him.
For some reason, it bothered her the more she knew how much Akane is involved in his life.
"I think you're boring her with your stories, mom," Sasuke warned while pulling Momo off the couch away from his mother. Mikoto whined.
"Sasuke-dear! I didn't tell her how scared you were while we took pictures with dressed-up characters at the amusement park! You were so cute!" If he would've known that his own mom was rubbing off of Akane's idiotic behavior, he should've thought about inviting Momo more carefully than this.
They began striding towards the front door as Sasuke yelled from outside. "Dropping her off." Mikoto grinned while waving from the living room.
"Be careful, honey!" She shouted. "You're welcome to visit anytime, Momo!"
"Thank you for having me over," she replied back happily, and out she went. Grinning to herself, the raven headed woman shuffled to the bookshelf and place the photo album back in its corresponded spot.
A picture captured her searching eyes, then a smile reached the corners of her lips when she eyed a portrait of Sasuke and Akane graduated middle school together.

"Goodnight, Momo." The Uchiha led his girlfriend to the front of her porch as she stood in front of the door, facing him. With nothing else to say, Sasuke began to take a step around. "I'll see you tomorrow."
But a hand stopped him from walking any further by tugging his shirt from behind desperately. His charcoal orbs found her head hang low with a reddish blush dusting her nose.
Sasuke rose his brows. "What is it?"
"I, erm..." She couldn't find the right words to say. With her shoulders shuddering and hands shaking, Momo shut her eyes shamefully. "C-Can we..."
"...k-kiss?"
Sasuke's frozen eyes gazed at her shy form still grasping a hold of his shirt. Did he hear her right?
"Is that okay with you?" He asked queerly. She finally released her grip and slightly nod at his question. He couldn't believe of accepting she is.
Stepping forward cautiously, Sasuke dared himself to grab a hold of her face with his fingers brushing pass her curly black locks. Momo was forced to make direct eye contact with him, witnessing his expression matched hers.
And slowly, very slowly, he closed the gap between their faces and kissed her motionless lips. A bubbly feeling churned in his stomach in nervousness when he finally inched away from her, letting a breath escape in ease.
Momo tried to hide her glowing face behind her purse and muttered quietly. "Uhm... I'll see you later!" Still comprehending the moment, Sasuke nodded as she entered her home in a hurry.
His fingers brought over his tingling lips, thumbing the bottom half of it while contemplating his first kiss with Momo. His emotions were drained as his chest felt hollow. It felt different than what he expect it to be.
Sasuke was content, excited but oddly uncertain with this feeling.
