Once me and Adrian were standing face to face nervous smiles were on both of our faces while we stared into each other's eyes. I don't know what has gotten into me recently but whenever I saw Adrian and I wasn't as drunk as I would usually be I was speechless. Insane to say that someone like Adrian made me speechless but it was true. A sly remark would slip past my lips or a flirty comment would catch the person in front of me off guard but nothing came out of my mouth.

"A little underdressed don't you think?" Adrian said the same way that Erica did earlier.

"You and Erica must've been twins in another life," I said with a faint chuckle.

"You don't seem like the same cocky Justin I met at your own parties," Adrian said.

I shook my head, glancing over at my parents before making eye contact with Adrian again. "I don't want to embarrass my parents any more than I already have," I said and it was true.

There was always that thought in my mind that I really don't care what my parents or anyone they associated with had to say but when you hear it constantly, you start to rethink things. And I was starting to rethink everything.

"Does that mean that you're finally considering stepping up?" Adrian asked and in his tone, I could tell he wouldn't be convinced.

"I'm still thinking about that."

We shared a quick laugh together and once it was over, Adrian leaned against the nearby island and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"Who's Maricio?" Adrian asked suddenly.

I looked over my shoulder, spotting Maricio talking to my parents now then my eyes were back on Adrian. "Someone that kisses up to my parents as if they're going to give him the company," I replied.

Of course, I was annoyed just saying that sentence because of the countless amount of times my parents compared me to Maricio. That was another reason why I was thinking about stepping up. Being their only child it's only right for a "Park" to run the business when my parents can't.

"Would your parents actually do something like that?" Adrian questioned me.

"They talk about him a lot and try to compare me to him so it's a possibility they would. That's why I'm trying to do better not only for myself but for them."

"Wow~" Adrian's voice trailed off.

"What," I couldn't help but chuckle silently.

"The Justin Park actually has a heart."

I shook my head, stating, "I'm too sober right now."

"That's your excuse?"

"Yup."

I noticed there was a look on Adrian's face almost like he wanted to ask something else but didn't know how to word it. So, I decided to force it out of him.

"Something else on your mind?"

"Well... it's just... Maricio. That's all he is?"

"An ass kisser?" I questioned. "Yeah."

"What is he to you?"

I raised my eyebrow thinking...

"Erica told me that you and him are dating," Adrian said, completing my thought. "Is that true?"

"We're not dating," I replied. "She took it that way because of the amount of times we've had sex."

He nodded his head saying something under his breath that I couldn't catch but didn't feel like asking him about it. I cleared my throat trying to avoid the silence from building up. "What were you and Maricio talking about?"

Adrian shook his head then dropped his eyes to the floor before making eye contact with me. "He was just telling me the tips and tricks to running a business that is already so big."

Typical.

"What were you and Erica talking about?"

I thought about lying but felt no need to do that. Especially not to Adrian. "She was telling me that I shouldn't try anything with you after she caught us in your bedroom the other day."

Adrian rolled his eyes glancing over at Erica. "Typical," he said under his breath. His eyes were back on me before he said something that made me question him. "She may be older than me but she doesn't decide who can be in my life and who can't."

I nodded my head and felt my breath catch in my throat when Adrian took a step closer to me. He reached his hand out, taking the glass of whisky from my hand before placing it on the countertop.

"But anyways," he said, changing the topic. "You were saying how you were thinking about cleaning up your act?"

"Yeah..." I said and I can't lie I was suspicious about what he was getting at the closer he was to me now.

"When does that start?"

There was an urge, almost like a reflex, to reach my hand out to grab Adrian's wrist but I hesitated. That slight hesitation caused Adrian to take a step back and grin slightly. There were so many questions running through my mind, but I didn't know how to form a single one of them. That was something else that Adrian did to me. Leaving me speechless once again.

"I have to use the restroom," he said. "Mind showing me where it is?"

"Follow me."

I turned on my heel and began making my way through the crowd with Adrian following close behind me. I looked at Maricio out of the corner of my eye, noticing that he was still talking to my parents. What they were talking about was most likely about the company and Maricio trying to find a way in. But that was going to have to be a conversation that I would just talk to him later.

It was almost as if he knew I was thinking about him, either he smelt my cologne or he felt my presence getting closer to him when he looked in my direction. Our eyes met for only a second before I looked back at Adrian, seeing that there was still no sign of nervousness on his face. It made me wonder what if our minds were on the same page once we were alone.

And once we were upstairs, we turned a corner then I pushed open the bathroom door saying, "Here it is."

Adrian took a step inside the bathroom and before I could even think about turning away to head back downstairs, he held his hand out. Once again, I hesitated to take it. Something that I would do immediately without a second thought. Then I felt his gentle touch on my wrist slowly and carefully pulling me in closer.

"Adrian," I said, my voice coming out as a whisper.

"What's stopping you from joining me?" he questioned me.

"I could give you a list."

"I meant what I said Justin. So, if Erica is on that list of yours... cross her off." He was staring deep into my eyes and there was a weird feeling in my stomach that I haven't felt before. "Because like I said before, she doesn't decide who can and can't be in my life."

Where was he going with this?

"I... I want you in my life."

"Adrian I can't."

"Trying to start your clean slate?"

"Definitely trying."

He shrugged his shoulders slightly. "You can start again tomorrow."

"Are you drunk?" I blurted out because I really had to know.

"I don't drink."

Whether he was telling the truth or not there was no way for me to know. I didn't know Adrian well enough to figure out if that statement was true or not. I thought it over and over and over again in my head if this is something I should follow through with. He let go of my wrist and took a step back into the restroom then once he slowly started to close the bathroom door I stopped him. I pushed the door open, stepped into the restroom with him and closed it behind me.

My mind was made up.

One thing I will always be addicted to is sex and the temptations.
