~Justin~
The event that the Hawkk's were hosting wasn't as full as the events my parents were hosting. At least at this one I could see the floor and I didn't have to bunch shoulders with people that I barely knew. Being a part of my parents company was something I never thought I would be doing. Going to meetings, attending events, wearing a fucking suit. Yeah, doesn't sound like the Justin Park that everyone knew.
The one that was addicted to a lot of things. Drugs, alcohol, money, and sex. All those things came easy for me and I didn't have to lift a finger. Sure I think about those things from time to time but the only thing that I can get at the moment is money. That's why I show up.
I saw Erica standing by the grand stairs, dressed in a body suit with heels on while she spoke to a lady who wore something similar. I'm pretty sure she was enjoying every bit of this right now considering she's been wanting to help her parents run the company since she was sixteen. Then I began to look around, trying to find someone who I knew I had no business focusing on.
Adrian.
Like I said, the house wasn't completely packed so surely I would be able to spot him. But I couldn't. I began to make my way to Erica and when she made eye contact with me she excused herself from her conversation to meet me halfway.
"You clean up nice," I complimented her once we were face to face.
"Same to you," she said with a grin. "This doesn't feel real."
I looked around once she did then made eye contact with her again. "Not even a little," I said, then cleared my throat. "Where's Adrian?"
She rolled her eyes then raised her glass up to her lips. "At home," she responded, then took a sip.
I nodded. "I'm surprised he isn't here."
She scoffed. "Are you really that surprised? I mean it's Adrian we're talking about. He never wanted this. Never wanted to help out with the company. That's why when my mom told me that he was done before it even began... I had a feeling he was going to go back to New York to be with the rest of his friends."
My eyes widened at the sudden news. "New York?" I asked, trying not to sound shocked but failed at hiding it.
"Yeah," Erica replied. "If I'm being honest he really only came back to say hi to our parents, maybe try to fix things between us then leave right after New Year's. That's what he usually does."
"But he's still here," I stated.
"Obviously."
I could tell that something was bothering Erica but I couldn't figure it out. So I just decided to ask her. "What's bothering you?"
She rolled her eyes again and this time I could see a glisten in them as if she was trying not to cry. "Adrian and I got into it this morning," she said.
"Into it? How?"
"We just went back and forth because he thinks I hate him. He paints me out to be the bad guy when I did nothing to him." She scoffed and grinned slightly, something that I know she would usually do to keep from crying. "Every time I try to talk to him it turns into an argument then I look like a bitch. I mean, just the thought of him going back to New York for another eight months." She paused then dropped her head.
I could tell that Erica was trying to be that big sister to Adrian. The realization that he's still here was starting to make her understand that her brother was here for a reason.
"Erica..." I spoke softly but before I could say anything else my phone started ringing.
I pulled it out of my pocket and checked the contact name, surprised to see the person that was calling me.
