"We're here," Ciara exclaimed once we were at the Boba shop she was telling me about.

I couldn't stop myself from chuckling while I took off my seatbelt, getting out of her car. "See, this is what I would call kidnapping," I said as we walked into the shop.

"How!?" she exclaimed with a laugh.

"Because you said we were going to get ice cream," I recalled from our conversation before we left her apartment.

"And we are," she said, allowing her voice to trail off while she walked backwards to the counter. "Right after you try this boba drink with me."

I shook my head deciding to give in and once she turned around I waited behind her allowing her to order our drinks. I didn't know anything about boba between what was good and what was bad so... I trusted my best friend to pick something good. Which I might regret considering last time she chose something that tasted like grass.

"We'll call your number when it's ready," the male worker said, handing Ciara her receipt.

"Thank you," she said, taking it from him with a grin.

"You think he's cute don't you," I whispered in her ear.

"Shut up," she said, jabbing me with her elbow.

We both laughed and found an open table to sit at while we waited for our drinks. Even though this was a new shop there were a lot of people waiting inside, so I knew we were going to be waiting for a while. Ciara is a pretty girl. Her new blonde highlights that she got in her dark brown hair, her tan skin, freckles that went across the bridge of her nose just perfectly, and her beautiful smile. She has that natural look that not a lot of people can pull off like her and if I was straight I would date her.

"Want me to get his number for you?" I asked, making another joke.

"Oh my gosh will you let it go," she said, covering her face with her hands.

I couldn't stop myself from laughing not only because of seeing Ciara like this but because I missed hanging out with her. But that moment was soon ruined when I got a call from the only unsaved number in my phone. I declined his call and opened my mouth to say something else to her but was stopped when my phone started ringing again.

"Answer it," she said. "He's going to keep calling and texting if you don't."

And she was right. So, finally I answered the call.

"Hello?" Danny spoke on the line and hearing his voice after so long made my heart pound against my chest.

"Yes?"

"Is this still Erica's little brother?" he asked.

"Yes," I replied, trying to keep it short.

"What made you decide to answer my call?"

"Well you kept calling," I said even though that's part of the truth.

"Well I'm glad you finally answered."

"What do you want, Danny?"

"Is this a good time to talk?"

"Yeah."

"Okay well." There was a pause. "How have you been?"

"Good," I replied. "How... how have you been?"

"Decent," he replied.

"This phone call is going nowhere," Erica whispered.

"I know," I mouthed.
