Kalea's Perspective
I watched as Cassandra took Annabella's hand into hers and walked towards the house. Holly stood behind me waiting for Dylan to give us more directions. "I hope this goes right," Treyven said leaning on to the tree behind him.
Holly, you can go now.
Holly immediately sprang into action. "Be careful, Holly," I whispered. She smiled and ran out of the woods and following Cassandra.
I sat in the woods just thinking about the way things would be now that Cassandra would be permanently a part of this pack. Even though I didn't show it as much, I was worried that Cassandra would take all the attention Dylan usually gave me. I loved making him angry and I knew he loved doing the same thing to me, but now he has his mate. Maybe that's how he felt when I found my mate.
"Ha, I knew you loved me," I heard Dylan chuckle from behind me. He came up from behind me and hugged me tightly.
"Stop reading my mind," I laughed hugging him back. "Well block your thoughts, then," he said nuzzling my head.
"Ohhhh my gosh," I heard Treyven gasp.
"What is it?" Me and Dylan said concurrently.
"Alia, is she really working with Robert?" I asked as she descended the front steps dressed in all black.
"Stay here, I'm going check in on everyone else," Dylan said running deeper into the woods. Ne and Treyven watched closely at Holly, Cassandra, and Alia.
"Kalea?" Someone whispered behind me. Me and Treyven snapped our heads towards the unfamiliar man.
"Who are you?" Treyven asked before I could.
"I'm Jayden, Annabella's therapist. For some crazy reason, my instinct was telling me to bring this knife to you, Kalea," he said holding out the knife. I cautiously took the knife and turned to see Annabella running towards us. "What are you doing, Bella? You should be out there," I panicked.
"I had a vision about Cassandra," she whispered. "I had the same vision," Adonis said emerging from behind a tree.
They're mates.
"What was it about then," Jayden asked eagerly.
"If Cassy is going to be ok, you have to stab her, Kalea," Annabella said. My eyes widened in confusion.
"How is that going to help her," I said loudly. I looked down at the knife, I knew that I would never be able to stab my best friend.
"There's rogues coming," Treyven said tremulously, "they aren't close, but they're surely coming."
"If you don't stab Cassandra, then she will die by the rogues. If you stab her, she'll live, she'll just be in lots of pain but she'll get better because she's a wolf," Adonis said smartly. Adonis was known for being really smart so I took what he said into consideration.
"You need to hurry, Kalea, please," Annabella begged. I was conflicted between hurting Cassy and doing what's right for her. Should I listen to two seven year olds.
I looked at Cassandra and she was backing towards us with her back to us. This was when I should do it. I took a deep breath and got a good grip on the knife handle. I walked slowly to Cassandra, getting more nervous with each step. 'Calm down. Calm down,' I mindlinked Cassandra.
Kalea! What are you doing?
Dylan was yelling at me through my mind link. I ignored his voice and continued to walk. My hand was dripping with sweat, and my face was dripping with tears. When I got close enough to her without her noticing, I shut my eyes tightly and said sorry many times in my head before sliding the knife into her back skin. Her scream was torture to my ears. I cried more, the way the knife felt in her tore my heart to pieces. I'm so sorry.
KALEA!
Dylan yelled at me as I removed the knife from her back. "Cassandra!" Holly screamed as Cassandra collapsed to the ground.
"How could you do this to her, Kalea?" I couldn't speak. My brain couldn't form the words to explain. I stood there with the bloody knife and cried.
"Kalea! How dare you do that!" Dylan yelled grabbing me by the shirt and pulling me off of the ground. I didn't respond. I looked around and saw Alia looking at the rogues that were almost to her. I collapsed into Dylan's arms. I was in a constant state of shock.
"Treyven! Bring Kalea somewhere safe and call Vanessa right away. Something's wrong with Kalea," Dylan growled. My body wasn't taking any orders from my brain, but I was there and observing everything. Treyven carried me to the woods and mind linked Vanessa. Holly was still sitting over Cassandra trying to make sure she was breathing.
Where's Elliot? I wanted Elliot to hold me and kiss me and tell me that this wasn't my fault. "Elli," I whispered in to Treyven's chest.
"Lea, I'm going to come back, Dylan is about to go on a rampage," he said laying me down on the ground. He kissed my forehead softly and ran off.
I knew that the rogues had reached them when I heard the fighting. The growls, scratching, and wails filled my head. I couldn't help but believe that Cassandra was out there unconscious. Her life and soul seeping away by the second while wolves are torn to pieces around her.
"I'm sorry, Cassandra," I mumbled.
"Are you ok?" A male voice whispered. I turned my head to see two people kneeling beside me. "She isn't going to respond, dad," the teenage girl said.
"Well I'm Alessandra and this my dad," she whispered lowly them looking around. I raised my eyebrows wondering if I should be panicking or relieved.
"I'm Cassandra's fraternal twin and this is our dad," she said smiling. She put her hand on my chest where my heart is softly.
"Twin?" I croaked. That couldn't be possible. How didn't Cassandra or Annabella know about her?
