"Hannah, I'm so glad you're ok," Elliot whispered going to embrace her sweetly. I looked around the hallway before entering the room fully, closing the door behind me.
Hannah looked horrible. She looked tired and exhausted, and her clothes were in pieces. "Where's Holly," she asked eagerly.
"She's out there fighting for you," I smiled. She smiled back then stood. "We think Robert is in the room on the other side of the hallway," Elliot said sitting on one of the beds.
"No that's someone that's helping Robert. Robert's out there," she said lowly pointing towards the window.
"Why didn't you sneak out," I said following Elliot to the window. "I don't know how he did it, but there's a coat of sliver surrounding the outside of the window. I can't sneak out if I'm gonna get burned by the silver," she groaned lowly. We searched the field carefully until we found Robert.
"Right there!" Hannah exclaimed pointing to him. The window was positioned to look behind the house luckily because that's where he was standing. My dad and Jayden were standing in front of him like they were guarding something.
"Who's that next to your dad, Kalea?" Elliot asked.
"That's Jayden, Annabella's therapist."
"What's he doing out there with your dad then, and what are they guarding?"
"I don't know, Elli."
I searched behind my dad and Jayden trying to find what they were guarding. I looked closely into the dark woods. "Right there!" Hannah said, "They're guarding Annabella. She's right behind that tree." Annabella was standing timidly behind a tree that wasn't that far into the woods. She was peaking from behind it staring at them closely.
Kalea! Kalea! Please help me!
It was Vanessa mind linking me. I've never heard her so frantic and scared, she was usually so calm ams collected.
What's wrong?
She never responded so I knew that this was very urgent. "Hannah, Elliot. We have to go. Vanessa needs our help. Now!"
"What's wrong?" Elliot asked.
"I'm not sure, she never responded but we have to go," I demanded pulling both of them with me to the door.
I opened the door a bit to look around if anyone was nearby. Fortunately, no one was there. We walked quietly back to the stairway but was stopped by Hannah. "What about Cassandra's mom?"
"We can't get to her right now," I whispered sadly. "Well I'll stay behind and help her get out of here. She deserves to see Cassandra and get out of here," Hannah declared.
"But-"
"Honey, Cassandra's mom is gonna need help. What if we can't get back into the house to save her later?"
I sighed heavily and sadly before finally agreeing that she should stay behind. Hannah nodded and made her way down the hallway. Elliot led me down the staircase but stopped suddenly.
"Wh-"
"Shhhh," he whispered, "you hear that?" I stopped and listened closely. I heard a few male voices laughing and talking lowly in the dining room.
"How are we gonna get out if they're right there," I panicked. Elliot didn't respond, he just stood there and started to think furiously. I didn't bother to interrupt him because he was deep in thought.
"Lea, come on," he whispered pulling me back up the stairs. "Where are we going," I asked but was left without a response. He went by a random door and started beating on it loudly. "Go hide, Lea," he urged still banging on the door loudly. Not bothering to retort, I reluctantly hid behind the corner. As the men came up the stairs, Elliot ran to hide behind the other corner. The men looked around in caution, seeking us.
The men slowly made their way to the side of hallway, where I was hiding behind the wall. As they got closer, I quickly looked for a door to hide in. I picked the door that was closest to me and slid in it quickly making sure that I didn't shut the door quickly. I pushed myself into the little closet and regulated my breathing staying quiet.
You ok, Lea?
'Yea I'm in the closet,' I linked back tightening my grip on the door knob as I saw them coming towards the door.
My heart started racing a and my palms got sweaty. I jumped in surprise when a loud crash came from the other side of the hallway. "Who's there? Trust me you're not gonna get away," one of the men said making his way over to where Elliot hid.
Elliot, what happened?
Never mind that, just run down the stairs when they aren't looking.
But-
Baby, trust me
I took one long deep breath and pushed the door open enough for me to slide through. I slowly and quietly followed the three men before slipping down the staircase. I quietly made my way out of the front door and ran.
Wolves were scattered around the yard of the home. I felt bad that this had to happen to wolves of our own and to rogues. But when Dylan goes on a rampage, I was fully aware that everything that got in his way would be broken or killed.
Suddenly, my right hand was in tremendous pain like I had been stabbed. I looked down at my hand, but hand wasn't injured at all. Elliot must've hurt his hand,
I wanted so badly to go back and help my mate, but Vanessa was counting on me. I ran towards the woods as fast as I could, ignoring the pain, before Dylan walked up in front of me.
"Are you going help Vanessa," he growled lowly, "someone is hurting her." He still had blood dripping from his face from the rogues he had killed. I scanned over my brother's body and saw a huge cut on his upper arm.
"Are you-"
"Yes, Kalea... I'm ok," he sighed, "just go help Vanessa. I'm going handle Robert." I forced a smiled let him walk off.
Elliot? Elliot?
I tried mind linking him many times, but then gave up miserably. Despite the pain in my hand, I tried desperately to forget Elliot and find Vanessa. I finally reaches where she was in the woods, but she wasn't there.
"Vanessa?" I called. I got no response, but as I was about to call her name again, I heard her scream "Stop, Jourdan, please!"
Jourdan? Her big sister?
I went deeper into the woods to find Jourdan holding a knife up to Vanessa's neck while Vanessa was backed up against a tree.
Jourdan chuckled at Vanessa's failed attempts to get free. "Why are you doing this to your sister?" I asked timidly in confusion. Vanessa loved her sister.
"Helpppp!" Vanessa screamed. Jourdan scowled at her causing Vanessa to quiet down.
"Vanessa killed someone I cared about deeply so now I'm gonna kill her."
