"What are you talking about Jourdan?" Vanessa cried, "and where's Cassandra?" Vanessa sobbed loudly as her sister ignored her cries.
"Cassandra has been brought back to the pack house by Treyven. Since she's already dying I decided not to kill her."
I looked at Jourdan speechless. Her hair was no longer blonde and red, it was jet black. She had a few cuts on her face and her eyes were red and puffy like she had been crying.
Jourdan stared at Vanessa as Vanessa begged her to tell her why she was trying to hurt her. Jourdan didn't respond to any other the questions that Vanessa asked, she just stood there with the knife to Vanessa's throat, giving her a deadly glare.
"Jourdan, please let her go," I begged.
"Why should I," she said lowly still staring at Vanessa. The pain in my hand started again causing me to hiss lowly. My brain was in over drive. I had no idea whether Elliot was ok or not, and I didn't know how to help Vanessa. The sky was getting lighter and the sun was shining dimly.
"What do you mean that she killed someone you cared about," I asked walking slowly towards them while Vanessa continued to weep lowly.
"You killed the only family member that cared about me," Jourdan cried lowly. The dim sunlight gave me a glance of Jourdan's eyes, she was on the verge of tears.
"Remember when Uncle Jamie had gotten shot," Jourdan gritted wiping her eyes.
"Y-yes," Vanessa sniffed.
"I brought him to you so you can help him. You are one of the best werewolf doctors known by every pack through the U.S. You could have helped him!" Jourdan started getting louder and pushed the knife closer to Vanessa's neck causing her to shriek.
"Jourdan, I tried. I really did. I-I tried to h-help him, but he just said pull him from the life support," Vanessa sobbed. My hand throbbed again, but I pushed the thought of running to help to the back of my mind. I took one step away from Jourdan to go get help from Dylan. I tried mind linking him but I wasn't getting a response.
"DON'T MOVE," Jourdan yelled turning to look at me. She pushed the knife onto Vanessa's neck. Vanessa's eyes widened as she screamed again but Jourdan covered her mouth causing her to make muffled sounds. If she pushed the knife any further, she would draw blood. I froze in my footsteps, afraid, before she continued.
"I know that's not what Uncle Jamie wanted. DON'T LIE TO ME," Jourdan said turning her full attention to Vanessa.
"I'm not! He told me to! I p-promise."
"AND YOU DID IT! THAT'S THE PROBLEM, NESSA. You just didn't like the fact that Uncle Jamie didn't give you all the attention like everyone else did because you had a wolf," Jourdan gritted angrily withdrawing the knife from Vanessa's neck. The wind picked up and I used it as an opportunity to take a few steps back towards the field, fortunately she didn't notice.
"You do have a wolf. M-mom had a vision that your wolf would take advantage of you at a really young age. Y-your wolf was found a-and imprisoned until you were strong enough to control it, but when you were. Your wolf had escaped," Vanessa explained gasping for air.
Jourdan dropped the knife on the ground and suddenly grabbed a hold of Vanessa's neck, tightly.
"Jourdan, let her go," I said running over to them trying to pry her hands off of Vanessa. Vanessa gagged and struggled as her eyes began to water again. Jourdan tightened her grip around Vanessa as she began to cry again.
"Stop it, Jourdan, that's your little sister!" I begged.
"I don't care. They took my wolf away, making me an outsider. I JUST WANT HER TO DIE! When she is dead, I'll let my mom join her!" Jourdan yelled before elbowing me in the side. I groaned in pain and held my stomach.
You got this, Lea, I love you
I knew he had felt the pain that I had, I smiled internally before pulling my body off of the ground. I had to improvise...quick.
"P-ple-please," Vanessa tried. As Jourdan was about to respond, she yelped in pain. Jourdan's grip on Vanessa's neck loosened instantly as she fell to the ground gripping her leg. Vanessa fell close to the ground next to her sister gasping heavily for air, coughing violently.
I kneeled quickly beside them trying to nurse Jourdan's wound as she hissed in pain. "Something bit me," she groaned. The brief light gave me light but not enough to see my surroundings. I removed her hand and saw that something had indeed bit her. The two holes in her leg had blood oozing from them.
"Vanessa, are you ok?" I asked, quickly shifting to her to nurse her. She continued to cough and breath heavily. "Yea," she said shortly.
"Can you help Jourdan?"
"No! She just tried choking me!" She yelled.
"I know but she's your sister! I have to look for what bit her!"
"Ugh, fine," Vanessa growled before roughly caring for her.
I searched around, seeking the thing that bit her. I enhanced my vision and looked around before I saw a wolf laying not far away from where we were. It's eyes were closed, like it was trying to hide, but I couldn't see the color of its fur. It was a small wolf, too small to be one of the new wolves.
"Shut up, Jourdan," Vanessa yelled before roughly grabbing her first aid bag from on the ground.
"Stop being so rough then," Jourdan growled.
"Shhhh, be quiet," I mumbled before walked cautiously towards the wolf. When I got close enough, I grabbed the wolf quickly and tightly.
The wolf squirmed in my hands but wasn't that hard to hold on to. "Stop moving!" I growled holding it at arms length. In response, the wolf stopped and pouted in my hands. I brought it into the light and Vanessa gasped at the wolf.
The wolf's fur was a white and black color, and it's eyes were two different colors. One eyes was purple and the other was a blood red.
"What's wrong, Vanessa," I asked putting the wolf on the ground.
"Kalea, look at that wolf," Vanessa said removing her attention from her sister.
"Yea, I know its fur and eyes is two different colors but that's ok," I said lowly.
"No it's not, Lea. That wolf is really small meaning that his or her wolf is still developing. This let's any wolf without an owner can take over undeveloped wolves... Like Jourdan's old wolf," Vanessa said, having a revelation.
"Shift for me," I said to the wolf. The wolf shifted immediately and Vanessa quickly grabbed a blanket for the unknown little kid. The black, puffy hair and the smooth ebony skin immediately gave away the little girl's identity.
"Annabella?"
