"Monica, please hold all calls today. I'm going to lunch with my friends and I'm going to be taking the rest of the day off", I told my assistant. I am a Well-known lawyer in Queens I'm also the youngest in the firm..I'm from a small town in Georgia and recently moved here when I was still in high school with my parents. Im 25 years old, I'm single and I have no children. I'm a Light-skinned cutie with dark brown eyes, I'm short with long brown hair. "Yes Ma'am , you have a call on line two before you leave. Would you like for me to cancel them also" she said through the speaker. I sighed and rolled my eyes. "No, I'll take it now. But after this no more please." I said, a little annoyed.

"Hello, this is Serina Carter what can I help you with today." I said with my fake voice. The person on the other end was quiet. "Hello?", I said again.
"Hi, my name is Dominic Hall, and someone gave me your card. I need a great lawyer to help me with a case." He said with a serious tone.

I wrote his name down and scheduled a time for him to come in. "Ok Dominic, come to my office tomorrow on Main and 35th. You'll see a building called, "William's Law Firm" and come to the 5th floor. You will need to be here at 3:30p.m." I said.
"Thank you so much, Ms. Carter I will be there." He said in a low tone. I hung up the phone. Gathered my things which included my purse, car keys, and a couple of files.
"Monica your free to leave, I'm going to lock up my office so you can just lock the main door." I said as I locked my office door. She nodded her head and I left the office.
I went down to my car and called up my bestfriends, Shaniya and Amber on three-way.

"Hey y'all, where would you guys like to meet?" Amber asked. I knew Amber from Georgia, she's basically my sister. My dad let her move in with us when we moved to Queens. She's a nurse and she does hair on the side. She was light skinned with beautiful long black hair. She had a slim waist and a round butt that she never showed off. She was gorgeous. She was sweet and kind to every one but she did have a smart mouth. " We can meet at the downtown Café", Amber said.

"Alright I'm on my way." I said as I started the car. My office wasn't too far from the Café, so I took my time. It was 4:00 and the traffic was getting heavy. 10 minutes later I parked my car on the side and hoped out.
"Table for 3 please, on the outside." I said as I took my sunglasses off. He nodded his head and led me towards the table. He pulled out my chair and said, "what would you like to drink Ma'am." He said.
"I would like a iced Tea, with a lemon wedge please." I said and he walked away to retrieve it. I pulled out my phone and went through my emails, I put my shades back on because the sun was coming out. I seen Amber and Shaniya pull up at the same time, they hugged each other and came to where I was. Shaniya and I been friends since our freshman year in college, she studied to be a social worker and now works for The Dhs office here in Queens. She's the fighter of the group, she has no problem speaking her mind. She was beautiful, with her Carmel skin and hazel eyes. She was very thick, but she had a flat stomach. Her hair was down her back and she was absolutely flawless.

"Hey." I said giving both of them a hug. The waiter came back and they ordered there drinks. "How's work?" Amber asked. Me and Shaniya looked at her like she was crazy.

"Girl I'm not worried about that damn dhs office right now, work is the last thing on my mind." Shaniya said as she took a sip of her drink. "I'm with Niya on that one." I said agreeing with her. Don't get me wrong, I love my career but I be there 24/7 and I'm lucky to have quality one with my girls.

"We can talk about anything else besides working! Please Amber", I said as I waved the waiter to come take my order. We all ordered our usual thing, Shaniya ordered the club sandwich , I ordered a chick salad and Amber ordered chicken Alfredo. We sat and ate and talked about girl stuff.

"I'm waiting on Serena to get a man child." I put my fork down and eyed Amber. She laughed and said," what? I mean me and Shaniya waiting on that." She said as they both looked at each other and laughed.

"Look, I really don't need a man to keep me happy! I'm fine with myself, unlike you hoes." I said placing some food in my mouth. Shaniya waved me off and Amber just sat and looked at me. I was always the one That ended up single. I have no clue why but it was always me. Independent is what I call it "Maybe you need to get on a dating site", Shaniya said without looking up.
"Excuse me? I am not some desperate women in need of some dick or male attention." I said. They both eyed me and we all laughed. "I don't see what the big damn deal is", Shaniya said.
" Well you do it!", I said obviously frustrated. Shaniya gave me a look that could kill and I returned the the same look. She rolled her eyes and continued eating. I looked off for a minute to calm down. "I'm fine guys, love will find me. When the time is right." I said while placing my napkin on my plate. "You got us", Shaniya said pointing at her and Amber.  I smiled and grabbed their checks.

After that we said our goodbyes and I went home. I stayed on the West side of Queens in a condo on the 7th floor. It was a 2-bedroom with 2 bathrooms. 1 room having a bathroom inside of it. The living room was spacious and so was the kitchen. Amber lived 2 floors down from me and Shaniya lived in South Queens which was the worst part of town. She was from there so she didn't mind living in a nice home on that side. Soon as I got home I checked my voicemail and started running some bath water. I laid out a big t-shirt and some sleeping shorts. I also laid out some necessities.
I cleared my voicemail and got in the tub.
30 minutes later.
I took out my files from my book bag and read over them and I made some notes, then I turned the news on.

Dominic Hall has been arrested for 2nd degree murder and possession of a handgun and several ounces of cocaine was found in his home on Monday morning. His bond was set at $3 million dollars. That was later paid and he was released. New Trial date has not been released yet but we are following the story. The lady said.

I shook my head, knowing that I was going to deal with him later. I decided to look everything up before he told me his side of the story, I wrote everything down and place it in my book bag.
