*The next morning*
Getting out of bed to use the restroom, shower and brush my teeth I then put something simple on. Placing my hair in a pretty bun and didn't apply make up. Dominic left a note on the desk with a shit load of cash. It explained how he wanted me to go have fun today and how he was going to take care of me and some more sweet stuff. I smiled and put the money in my purse. Instead of keeping it all to myself I was going to give some of it to my client and his children.
I called Shaniya for the address and she then told me to act like I was her when I went to pick up the kids. I was on my way to pick up my client James, I stopped by the coffee shop and got us some doughnuts and coffee. I even grabbed a couple of job applications. When I arrived at the hotel, I seen James sitting in the lobby with his head down.
"Goodmorning", I said While reaching down to give him a hug.
"Goodmorning Serena." He said in a plain voice. I could tell something was wrong.
"Are you Ok? Your children are ready to see you, I talked to the oldest this morning." I said trying to lighten him up.
"Yes, but I can feel my old ways slipping back to me. I am trying to fight it, I just need your help. Please Serena, I don't want to be a disappointment to my kids. They are all I have left in this world." He said, while shedding tears.
"James, we are going to get you help. When your court date come I will fight hard to get you in the best rehab facility, so your kids can come visit you and more. I'm also going to help you get on your feet." I told him. I was being honest, I hated to see people in situations like this.
He smiled, pulled himself together and we went to his room. To my surprise everything looked good, and it even smelt good.
"I know you thought a junkie was going to mess this up, but I can control myself." He said. Reading my mind.
"Lets go get your kids." I said. I gave him some of the money Dominic left for me.
It was a forty-five-minute drive from where we were. So I decided to ask him some questions about his family. He only had two pictures of them. I listened as he reminisced about his past, and I couldn't help but shed a few tears.
Meanwhile, Dominic and his friends were gathering everything for Tyrone's birthday party. They invited all of their friends, including girls, and bought all the chairs and tables, decorations, drinks and food.
Dominic was going to barbeque, and Tyrone's girlfriend was making cheese dip, meatballs, deviled eggs, fruit trays and some desserts. Everything was decked out, and was going as planned. I had to make some mixed drinks. I made it a small menu from three different flavors with different fruits and liquor in all. All we needed now was to mark the areas where everything was going to be set up. We even had a local Dj come set his station up in the back yard.
They Finally arrived at the house, we then got out the car and went to the front door.
*Knock Knock*
"Well, well, well.. If it isn't James the garbage man. My sister's ole man. How you been stranger?", the lady said. She knew his condition, so he just ignored her comment.
"Beverly, I'm just here to pick up my kids. Jordan and Jada? Daddies here." He screamed.
I starred at her for a moment and said, "I'm Serena, I'll be watching him and the girls. they will be back tomorrow morning if that's fine with you." I told her. She looked me up and down and said, "Who gives a shit, take these little ass girls. I need a vacation. Matter of fact don't bring them back, I just wanted the check."
