Unbothered

Chapter 17/ Unbothered

I was on my way back to my house, I was highly upset and didn't want to be bothered with anybody. My phone rang several times and I ignored it each time.  In my head, I've been made a fool out of for the longest, and I refuse to lay up at another man's house while he throw himself a another woman. 

When I made it home, I unpacked and locked up my house. I took a quick shower, fixed me a drink, and told the crew to come over. I decided to cook steak, shrimp, backed potatoes and rolls for all of us.

Setting the table for us and opening a bottle of wine. I began putting each dish on the table, waiting on my friends to arrive. 

*fifteen minutes later *

"Hey", Monica said as all three of them entered the kitchen. I smiled at them and continued sipping my wine.  It was 7:40pm and I just wanted to be with my girls. We fixed our plates and talked about the things that went down at the party.

"Well, I'm not going to dwell in it. I'll just continue to do me, before I met Dominic. Yes I'm into him and care about him, But if he can allow that to happen then fuck him." I said. They all looked at me and laughed.

"Who would've known that you had a little thug in you." Amber said as she poured her some wine. I laughed and continued to eat.

"Just a lot has to change and I have to show hat I don't give a fuck." I said 

After dinner, we sat up and watched movies.

*Ring ring*

"Damn, just answer the phone." Shaniya yelled. I looked at my phone and seen that it wasn't Dominic. I quickly answered and It was Jordan.

"Please, Ms. Can you come get us?" She said. I ran upstairs to grab my purse and keys and headed to the hotel. Leaving everyone there with a blank expression. 

Once I made it to the room, I opened the door to see that it was a complete mess.

"Jordan? Jada?", I yelled out. Nobody answered. I walked around the room to see James passed out on the floor. Their were a bottle of gin and some cocaine laying next to him. I was furious in the inside, I went to get some water and splashed it right on him.

"Aaaahhh, You bitch. What the hell you do that for?" He screamed at me. I starred at him deeply in his eyes trying to read him. "I am so sorry Serena, I couldn't help myself. I need something to keep me from spazzing." I shook my head and walked away from him.

"Jordan, Baby answer me." I said while searching from them. I went into the bathroom and their they were balled up in the bath tub.

"Come on, your coming with me." I said while getting them out, gathering their things and leaving the hotel room. On the way to the car I looked back and seen James following us. "Hurry, get in the car and lock the door." I said to the girls. They did just what I asked and I went to James. "I can't believe you. I pulled all the strings and put my name on the line for you and this is what you do." I screamed at him. He looked down at his bottle and turned it up on more time.

"I appreciate you trying, but I can't do this." He said and walked away from me. I hopped in the car and headed towards my house.

When we made it there, I unloaded the car and showed them the guest room.

"Everybody this is Jordan and Jada, Shaniya we need to talk to you." I said out loud to everyone. Shaniya and I went upstairs to the guest room and talked about what happened. She then started to ask the girls some questions while I unpacked their things and went to get them something to eat.

When they were finished talking the girls came downstairs and ate. As I was cleaning up and going over some cases.

"So are they going to stay here until we find a good home for the both of them?" Shaniya asked. I nodded my head and continued to do some work. I was so upset that I could not focus, I then listed everything that kids needed and I was going to have to skip work tomorrow just for them.

It was now going on ten o'clock, everyone was gone and I wasn't tired. I decided to go in the girls room and get to know them. When I entered the room Jordan was doing Jada's hair.

"Hey girls." I said

"Hi." Jordan said.

"I just wanted to ask some questions because I would like to get to know you guys. If you want to know anything about me just ask ok." I told them. They nodded and gave me a smile.

"So, did you guys go to school back with your Aunt and when are your birthdays?"

"Yes, Jada is in kindergarten and her birthday is August ninth and I'm in sixth and my birthday is June twentieth ." Jordan said.

"Ok, so that means Jordan you'll graduate when your seventeen years old. Did you guys go to the doctor and the dentist?"

"Its been a long time since I've been to one but Jada went to some of her appointments." She explained to me. "Jada was drinking some things under the cabinet that got my aunt in trouble. They had to pump her stomach, but I was the one that got a whooping." She said.

"So. You were always watching your sister? Did she even get injured?" I asked her.

"Yes I watched her, while guys were in the room with my Aunt and when she left for work. One night my aunt pushed me and I fell and twisted my ankle." She said. I shook my head and said, "Well don't worry about that ever happening to you again. I'm going to enroll you guys in school, and take care of you for now." Jordan smiled and
gave me a hug and Jada joined in too.

I took Jada a bath and wrapped her hair up, I then laid her down and she fell asleep. I was up with Jordan, getting her shoe sizes and more. She was a smart kid and I could tell that she's seen a lot. She then went in her room and went to bed. I locked up the house and eventually fell asleep.

In middle of the night I woke up because I thought I heard some noises. I rolled over and checked my phone. I had several missed calls from Dominic and long text messages. I felt like I was being immature by not talking to him but I wasn't giving in. I got up and went to check on the girls who were sound asleep. I closed the door and that's when I heard the noise again.

I started walking down the stairs and turned the light on. Nothing was there, I then went back upstairs and into my room.

"Hey Serena." I heard a deep voice say. I jumped and hit the wall.

"How the fuck did you get in here?" I said trying not to scream. This shit was creeping me out, Dominic scared the shit out of me. My heart was racing and my pressure started to rise.

"I have a key. I know you seen your phone mane." He said while getting up and walking towards me. I hurried and went to sit on my bed. He looked at me and took a deep breath. "Look, why won't you just talk to me? Are you mad cause of what went down?" He asked me.

"What do you think? You let some girl walk up to you and kiss you. Then you didn't stop it, plus its the same bitch I had a problem with last time. Like why don't you go move her in? I don't have time for drama Dominic, But you know what it's fine, I forgot we were just in business together." I said.

"Serena, me and ole girl was never together. We just use to fuck around. But that shit old as fuck now, Yes she kissed me but if yo nosey ass friends would've stuck around longer they would've seen what went down!" He yelled at me.

"I don't give a fuck." I lied. "You can leave now." I said.

"You sure?" He asked me

"Yea I'm sure." I lied again. This time looking up into his eyes.

"Ok, Bye Serena." He said and then walked out. I wanted so bad to chase after him but that wasn't me. I had other things to worry about and Dominic wasn't one of them. I needed to stay focused on my life, especially my career.
