Cara's POV:

Present.

After returning to my grandparents house after my trip with my grandpa I started putting a plan in motion. And in a few hours that plan would be deployed. I left this morning with a new found calm. I realized the only way to fix this would be to get over him completely. While it would be an incredibly hard task, it's not necessarily impossible. I also had a sure fire plan to help ease the process.

Part one consisted of marching up to him and telling him that I refuse to go down this road again and that to avoid any further incidents I would have to take immediate action. Part two would then follow suit with getting him transferred to another hospital in the area. And finally part three would be things going back to how they were before he popped, no crashed, back into my life. No Liam, no bitchy wife, no complications. It was foolproof.

I just had to keep my cool and not falter under pressure. If I could perform risky surgeries then I could do this. Hopefully. Surgery was easy for me. I had practiced and learned the in and outs of it. But dating, exs, and relationships were a completely different ball game.

I was on my way back home when I decided to call Harry. I waited patiently for him to answer. Just when I was about to give up his groggy voice greeted me.

"Hey. I didn't mean to wake you," I immediately apologize. He doesn't answer for a moment.

"It's fine. I had to get up in a few minutes anyway. What's up?" he asks.

"I just wanted to let you know that I was on my way home and I will be returning to work today," I say.

"Already?" he says surprised.

"Yeah. I just needed to get my head together and now that I finally have I think it's time I make my return," I explain.

"Well I'm glad you got you it handled. It didn't feel right without you here everyday," he says.

"I know. I grew so used to work being my life."

"Can I ask you something?" he asks.

"Sure."

"What are you going to do about him?" he asks. I sigh and debate telling him my plan. It's not that I didn't want him to know but something was telling me to keep it to myself.

"I have a plan. I'm getting off the freeway so I'll see you at work?"

"Yeah. I'll see you in a little," he says. I quickly say bye and press the end call button on the steering wheel. I hoped this plan worked. I would soon find out.

Forty minutes later I make my way to the entrance of the hospital. I keep my head held high and feign confidence. Once I step on the elevator I sigh and try and pull it together and keep up this little act. The doors open and I step off.

"Good evening," I greet. Niall looks at me in surprise.

"Welcome back Dr. Kingston," he smiles at me. I return it and slip into the locker room to change and prepare. I go over the plan once more as I get dressed. I hear a knock and turn to find Harry opening the door.

"Welcome back," he says. I smile.

"It's good to be back."

"Wow. You really did get your head straight. You seem back to your old self," he observes.

"Well I hope so. That's why I took the vacation in the first place," I joke but it was the honest to God truth. He moves behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. I close my eyes and let him kiss my neck.
