Cara's POV:
Present.
I was actually excited to be getting off of work today. I was looking forward to going out with Harry tonight. Even if we were just going to go out to the bar and drink like we always do. This was more then just a distraction for me. While it would serve as one, I felt different about it. I needed to get over Liam. And maybe Harry was the way to go.
Better late then never.
The minutes tick down and the night was going slow. Just five more minutes and I could go. I kept glancing at the clock like a teenager anxious to get out of class. Around the two minute mark I started making my way to the locker room to change and get my bag.
Niall was inside with one of the nurses, who's name I wasn't familiar with. He smiles at me as I pass. As I change my shirt I feel nervous. I had butterflies fluttering around my insides. It was just another night out with Harry. No big deal.
"Goodnight Dr.Kingston. See you tomorrow," Niall calls.
"Have a good night Niall," I call back. The door shuts and I put on my coat and grab my bag. I slam my locker shut and make my way to the door. Harry walks in as I walk out.
"Oh there you are," he says.
"Here I am," I respond.
"I was just looking for you. To tell you about tonight," he explains.
"Oh. Right. Should we meet at our usual place?" I ask.
"Actually no. Lets do something different," he says. I give him a puzzled look.
"What did you have in mind?" I ask.
"Are you hungry?" he asks.
"A little," I answer. He smiles.
"Good." He doesn't say anything else. Instead he moves over to the lockers and opens the one that contains his things. He pulls his shirt over his head and I can't help but stare as his muscles contact in his back. What the hell Cara. You're not in high school calm your vagina, I think to myself.
He changes his shirt and puts his coat on. After pulling a beanie over his curls, he turns to me and smiles.
"Ready?" he asks. I nod. Once outside I hug myself to keep the cold out. He puts an arm around me and I look up at him. He pulls away and mumbles and apology.
"No. It's okay," I squeak out. He smiles but says nothing. We decide to take his car and come back for mine later. He puts the heat on full blast then rubs his hands together before starting the car.
This was weird for me. Something had changed in my mind, making me see him differently. But this was just like any other night for him. It made me a little sad. But taking things slow was usually a good thing to do. Especially since our relationship had been so out of wack since Liam's arrival.
But could you take something like this slow? We had already been physical never emotional. I was never good at this relationship stuff. That was evident because of what happened with Liam. But that was over. I needed to get over him.
"What are you thinking about?" Harry suddenly asks.
"Girl stuff," I offer. He laughs.
"Girl stuff?"
"Yeah. Stuff you wouldn't be interested in," I say. He smiles widely.
"What like periods? Cara I am a doctor. I see worse everyday," he chuckles. I laugh with him.
