Harry's POV:
After Cara left my house I called her about thirty times but she didn't answer. I tried to sleep a little before work that night but I couldn't sleep. Around four I gave up on calling and trying to sleep. I got out of bed and took a shower.
I didn't quite know how she felt about me. She didn't really say much. I wanna say that the shock of my confession was too much for her but I don't think that was it. And if I knew her at all I knew she was probably even more confused then she already was.
I have to be honest I was a little disappointed when she didn't react differently. But I don't even know how I expected her to react. It's not like she could just tell me she loved me back and we can run off into the sunset together. This was the real world things don't work that way.
I was nervous to see what would happen when I saw her today. I wouldn't even know what to say. And I couldn't blame her if she didn't either. If I could just get her to see that he's not good for her anymore. I would treat her great and take care of her. We could build a life together. I just had to get her to see that.
Hopefully she would soon.
Liam's POV:
"Liam still does that. He hasn't stopped since last time," Arolyn says. My mom chuckles and eyes me carefully. I had been silent for the last fifteen minutes, not interested in engaging in them exchanging stories about me.
"Are you alright Liam?" my mom asks. I nod slowly.
"Yeah just tired," I mumble. Arolyn's smile disappears and she huffs. My mom rolls her eyes and gets up.
"Well Arolyn and I will let you rest," she says and looks at Arolyn. She gets up and follows my mom out of the room. I sit back and grab the remote attached to the bed. I flip through the thirteen channels that the hospital gets and stop on a cooking channel. I don't really listen to the TV instead I space out and day dream.
I snap out of it when the door opens. I look up to find Cara. She smiles politely and I return it.
"How have you been?" She asks.
"Better. How about you?" I reply. She hesitates for a moment before shrugging.
"I'm okay. Just had to take a little vacation," she mumbles. She goes through her routine and she doesn't say anything more. It's almost weird.
Don't get me wrong I was glad we weren't fighting but something was different. She seemed different. Maybe her little vacation helped her. I started to wonder where she went.
"Looks like you're doing better. I can probably get a physical therapist in here to get you back on your feet. But it looks like you should be out of here in another week or so," she says. I nod. She turns to leave but I call her name.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Just wondering," I say and she nods and leaves the room. Our exchange was too peaceful and for some reason it worried me. There was a possibility that her new found calm could be a bad thing. But I didn't think it would be a good idea to bring up anything. It might ruin the calm. So for now I'd just deal with it.
Cara's POV:
I leave Liam's room and sigh. I almost forgot what a normal conversation with him was like. It made me remember that he really was a good guy. Which only made me feel worse about what I was about to do.
I start my search for his wife. It doesn't take too long. I run into her and Liam's mom leaving the cafeteria. I try to turn around but Karen notices me. She calls my name and I turn back around.
