Tasha
I lean back on my hands as he finishes telling his story. He looks at me with hopeful eyes.
That's when I realize that, while this story may be true, it is also a ploy to make me into this man's servant. I bare my teeth at him and make my way through the forest, away from my lying mate.
He calls after me, and I change into my wolf before running faster. My streamlined body is close to the ground and-
Alpha!
The word stops me. My mate... Had called me Alpha?
What do you want?
Why did you run away? He asks anxiously. I snarl, Your story is just another way to make me into your servant! Don't you get it? If you keep on manipulating me like this, I will never-
That's not what it was for, Raze barks. It was to show you I trust you, and yes it was a plan, but not to make you my servant, to make you my friend!
Friend? I blink. My wolf growls, Look past your pride, Alpha. Look past your life. See his honesty. See his trust. Believe in the bond. Believe in the hope.
Since when has my wolf been a poet? And why are they ganging up on me?
I... I turn to my mate. I believe you. But I haven't given you a proper chance yet. Here it is. I will tell you my story.
He whines in surprise as I link our minds into my memories.

How dare he?! Raze howls, shredding the grass. The mongrel!
I swipe his nose furiously. This is why I didn't tell you! I shouldn't have trusted you...
What? No! I mean, err, the past is the past! he stammers. I look him in the eye challengingly. If you-
I will earn your trust, he murmurs. My wolf prompts me to pad over to him, but I resist. See that you do.
Turning away, I lope into the camp.
My trainer, Paula, who is the new mentor of the Divison One tribe, wrings her hands as I come to her. "Did he hurt you? I shouldn't have told him, I'm sorry, where you were, but he said it was important! Was he lying? Did he say anything false? Oh, if he did, never fear, I will beat the sh-"
I'm fine, I interrupt. Gently, I go to one of the children who are staring at me with wide eyes. Since they cannot shift yet, they do not hear my voice. Tell them what I am saying, Paula.
"Listen up, children! This is the Alpha of our pack! She wants you to know that if you train, you will achieve great things. Listen to me closely, and see that you work as hard as you can together. If there are any problems, speak up."
A young girl tentatively asks, "What if... There are wolves who bull- I mean, dominate over us a little too much?"
I start to growl. Bullies in my pack?!
She flinches, and I quickly dictate for Paula, they will be evicted. They are allowed to fight for themselves though.
"They will be cast out of the pack," Paula says for me. "If you wish to solve this on your own, you have permission to fight them until they submit. But do not kill."
"Yes, Alpha and Trainer," they chorus, their eyes as big as saucers.
Oh, the innocent children.
Paula. Tell them that I am always there for my pack. And I must go now.
She does so, and I race past them.
The favorite part of my day is the hunting. The shifted teens are my age, but I have so much power over them, they treat me respectfully. But I know their hearts. I know their minds.
I call to them, Be there in a minute! I'm over the mountains!
They are in fact, so close to me that I can hear their breathing. They are in human form.
"She's such a b*tch," a girl mutters. "We should be so proud she's joining us, hm?" she grunts.
I swallow my growl.
"If she keeps turning up late, I will kick her as*," another adds.
As I say. I know their hearts.
"Hey guys!" I say after turning into a human and putting on clothes. They turn around to meet me and have their heads down. "Hello, Alpha."
It's actually not an odd occurrence to have to root out the bad mouths. I've only been Alpha for a day, and it's inevitable that there would be some.
But Laura? I thought she was nice!
"So. I heard that some of you want to kick my ass after I come in late!"
Yeah yeah. I'm so blunt. What other way is there to say it though?
"Who would say that?"
Are you f*cking with me, Laura?
My eyes flare gold as my wolf growls, "I know that you did."
"What, me?"
With a roar, I leap at her, changing into my wolf. I heard you!
She is also changing into a wolf, her claws sliding into being as she swipes at me.
An Alpha must command total respect, I murmur to my wolf. She agrees, If there is one cockroach, there are others.
The other girl who'd been talking filth was Ira. She steps in.
I had already sliced Laura's ear open, and her face had a long red line down the side. She had a clean crack in her paw, from me landing on it hard.
As for me, well, I have some scratches and the nicked ear.
Laura shows her throat in submission, and I turn next to Ira. If you-
That b*tch! Laura leaps at me even after showing her throat!
Three loyal wolves drag her back, knowing that she has no right to interfere.
Ira is a better fighter than Laura, and I am panting with numerous wounds as I hold her throat between my teeth. Submit!
I submit, Alpha.
Snarling, I spit out the blood and turn to my packmates. If there is anyone in loyal, I expect that you tell me! The next person who hides their beliefs will be at my mercy. And I am not feeling very merciful.
Yes, Alpha.
Growling curses, I limp towards the hospital for the second time that day.
My Pack will respect me. Or I will die making them.
