(A/N: to stop further confusion, guards are in the room with them okay?)
Andria? What have they done to you?
I'm okay, Alpha, she answers. I blink in surprise. Her voice is strong and steady as though she's not even hurt.
They haven't touched me.
Is this a trick? I ask suspiciously.
It's a trick, but by the enemy- ow!
One of soldiers kick her in the side. "Stop linking your Alpha!"
"I-"
"And don't talk," he snarls. She holds her head up and looks me in the eye. I'm drugged so that I look exhausted.
Sh*t! How do we-
"Cut off your f*cking link!" RTC yells. He jabs his claws into my shoulder. My wolf lets out a howl of pain, as I buck and writhe underneath my restraints.
It's excruciating, not being able to relieve the agony of torn muscles. Wolvesbane slows down healing, which is why we use it for extreme scenario surgeries, but it's bad because, well, my shoulder can't heal.
"Now do as I say, b*tch," he says calmly, withdrawing his claws.
I gasp as my shoulder starts to bleed heavily.
"Patch her up," he calls to his guards. "Don't want Princess dying, now, do we?"
"No, Alpha," they grunt. A few moments later, a ragged doctor arrives. He wounds a bandage around my furry foreleg and ties it up. "She will live."
"I didn't harm her enough that there would even be a remote chance of dying," he answers, amused.
I think I can see the resemblance between him and Raze.
No, Raze wouldn't hurt you-
He f*cking Marked me and toyed with my emotions!
That's how he was raised, Alpha. He has no idea what to do.
Then how come his wolf doesn't kick some sense into his as*?
I don't know. Perhaps his wolf is likewise confused.
Perhaps.
"Now, b*tch," RTC says to me. "Come on. Mark me or we'll torture your friend more."
Why haven't you been hurt? I ask Andria.
I think it's because he doesn't want you to retaliate too harshly if our Pack attacks.
There is another reason I can detect. Tell me what you left out.
I didn't- okay.
I keep an eye on RTC as he approaches Andria with a silver buckle.
Hurry!
My mate is here!
Oh. My. Wolf.
What?!
My ma- ow!
He is hitting her!
I roar with fury and leap forward as far as my chains allow. He is hurting my Packmate! I strain against my restraints, and to my enemies' horror, they are starting to give way underneath my pressure.
Let her go! I howl, and they back away.
Right before a searing pain engulfs my left side.
He injected silver into me.
I'm burning.
My side is literally roasting underneath the lethal liquid.
It's making its way around my body, and I spasm in agony. Andria...
Yes, Alpha?
Alert the Pack-
What?
Our whereabouts.
I don't know where we are.
They-
My nose fills with the scent of wax and I groan in relief as the pain slowly subsides. Wax?
It must be a new method.
My wolf is back!
Duh.
Sorry.
"There's more where that came from," comes the sound of RTC's voice. I whine in response. What should I do, wolf?
Pretend to be weak. Or else he might break us.
Is that the only-
"Aren't you going to answer?"
A blade slices my forelegs, and RTC snickers at the sight of the blood. "Oh, everything about you is delicious."
He sniffs deeply. "Ahh."
My muzzle explodes into pain as the blade finds its way down my face.
"Scarring you won't make me happy," he murmurs. "But maybe it will help."
My body is thrown back into my memories.
I'm sorry Father-
Never good enough-
Useless-
Wanted you to hate me when I died...
I'm moaning on the cold dirt as pain erupts, both physical and mental.
"Alpha!"
Gamma...
"What's wrong, Alpha?"
RTC shouts, "Stand back! I know what's going on!"
I'm dimly aware of him crouching down besides me. His fingers graze my Mark, and fire sparks up.
"If I Marked over it..."
No!
Reject his Mark.
I can?
Yes, but that will make Raze's Mark permanent.
I'd rather have Raze than this oaf-
Just do it!
Sharp teeth bite into my neck, and I scream in my mind, I reject you, I reject you, I reject you!
He roars in pain as my blood floods with poison- poison for someone other than my mate.
RTC starts choking, and blood spews out of his throat. Horror engulfs me as I scrabble at the ground.
Memories are still flooding over me, each wave reaching farther back than the last.
Never wanted you-
Kill!
Hello, child. I'm going to kill your mother-
And bliss.
I'm floating in a paradise of snow.
"Tasha!"
"Extreme Alpha?"
"You have to go back to your body- they're going to start fighting."
"Wait, no! Who's th-"
Paradise cut short, my soul is flung back into my body. Which is also floating and encased in white. It takes me a moment to realize that my chains have fallen off and my wounds are healing.
I fall to the ground with a groan and open my eyes. My ears are attacked with the howls of war, and I hear metal scraping against metal and the baying of wolves.
Suddenly, the silver door is pushed open, and I shield my eyes against the light.
"Alpha?" There's a joyous howl. "Mate!"
"You're alive!" Gamma.
Yes, f*ck you all for not arriving sooner, I snap, smiling a wolf smile.
"Are you okay? Did he do anything?" Raze asks. I close my eyes and breathe in his scent. Delicious.
"What's wrong?"
I feel peaceful, like the dirt has suddenly become feather-soft.
"She's going into shock!"
Stop shouting...
"Secure the rest of them! I'll see to her."
Strong arms pick me up, and I struggle before realizing it's Raze. I can barely open my eyes, but I trail my hand on his chin. I must have shifted back.
"Thank you...."
A warm blanket is placed over me. "Anytime."
For the second time in as many days, I pass out from exhausted shock.
