Two sisters.

Anna is a 21 years old blond girl, with a caramel skin and imposing brown eyes. Her prominent nose and arched eyebrows allied with a salient mouth, that hosted a charming smile, would give the girl an arrogant but still pleasant air. She is best known by her egocentric personality, sharp tongue and sour mood. Despite all the qualities to be an intolerable person, everybody seemed to love her. She wasn't a saint, it was a fact. Although, people may appreciate that she didn't hide her true personality. Better being a true bitch than a fraud.

Barbra is a 19 years old brunette girl, with a white skin that was so pale and boring, just like her eyes. They were blue eyes, by the way. Not that someone would write poetry about those dead eyes. She was lightly taller than her sister, had a symmetrical face – nothing seems to contrast. To be honest, it was a pretty girl. However, her lack of personality – always working on being the best friend, best student, best everything – resulted in a dull girl, who was struggling so hard to be noticed as the best in everything and ended up not developing a remarkable ability for nothing. People used to like her, but not remember her.

They were half-sisters. Anna's father died when she was 5, but her parents were divorced even before she was born. Her mother dated Barbra's father ever since she could remember, and when the younger girl was born, they got married. Anna had a great relationship with her father, but he was gone too soon and Harold has been a constant presence in her life, therefore they had a great connection as well.

Barbra always was the smart girl, who wanted things to be perfect and even when she did wanted have fun, messing around just like kids do, she rather observe from a safe distance, afraid to get called attention. Anna has always made fun of her sister because of it. She was true to her feelings, although sometimes she regretted it. The girls didn't get along so well, and their mom couldn't be more confuse about it.

Jenna was a simple person. Either you like the day or the night. Either you use black or white. Either you're saying the true or telling lies. There weren't half terms or different points of views. So it was hard for her to understand how both of her daughters hated each other and still get along at times. As long as the appearance, the woman had the high and the eyes of the youngest and the skin and hair of the oldest one.

Anna was a senior in college, she was about to graduate on production engineering while Barbra was in her second year as an architecture student. Both of them on the same college, but didn't make constant to them to see each other there. They were only together at home, when they arrived, were about to leave or on the weekends.

It was a Saturday morning of February, and they still had two weeks of vacation ahead them. Seeing each other frequently was doing no favors to the ones who lived at the same house.

– How many times do I have to ask you to not pick up my clothes without asking first?

Barbra had entered Anna's room without a trace of compassion for being too early. She slammed the door with angry while her sister woke up frightened.

– Wow! What time is it again? What the hell is wrong with you? Go back to sleep and stop complaining about nonsenses.

The girl laid back on the bed and put the pillow above her head, trying to sleep again. Barbra founded her shirt on the floor next to Anna's bed and returned to her room rolling her eyes.

Late that day, everyone in the house had the same compromise: a wedding to go. It was Harold's oldest nephew who was going to marry, and he was Barbra's favorite person in the world. She tolerated the fact that her sister could get everyone's attention and affection just by smiling, but the girl refused to let she win Daniel's preference over her. Knowing about it, Anna loved provoke Barbra's jealousy.

– Don't take too long to get ready, ok ladies? Or I'll leave you here and go by myself, today is a big day. Who could imagine that Daniel would get married?

Harold was serving lunch to them. Barbra laughed with joy, while Jenna added:

– True. I must admit it was shocking, he's such...

– A douchebag? A jerk? An asshole?

Anna said with a cynical smile and a raised eyebrow. Jenna looked surprised, while Harold was embarrassed and Barbra seemed furious.

– I was going to say he's such a young boy...

– Well, apparently you don't have a specific age to be nasty. And besides, if he's going to get married with someone he met last month it's probably because she can give him something that...

Barbra interrupted her.

– Enough! Who do you think you are to say such a thing? You're hypocrite little...

She was giving a funny smile to Barbra. Harold, who normally was a quiet and patient guy, was bothered by the confusion.

– Wow! – He said – we know he's not the best example for young boys around there, but today is an important day and we are his family. We are going to support him, understand?

– Sure Harold, as you wish. As for you Miss B, I'm shocked. Who knew you could lose your composure? Too bad your dad stopped you from entertaining me. Guess I'll have to wait the wedding.

Anna smiled to her sister and got up the chair she was sitting while Harold and Jenna were almost out of the kitchen.

– You are so full of yourself, I can't stand you! You're just saying these things about him because he's not one of the idiots that keep chasing you! You can't stand he gets along with me better!

It was true that they weren't best friends. Anna always thought it was gross the way he treated the girls he dated, and how pathetic it was to her a 26 acting like a 16 years old boy. Other than that, he could be fun to hang out for a few minutes.

– Oh, I wouldn't go this far... I'm pretty sure we got along very well about three Christmases ago, while we opened our presents in his room...

Anna was making an exaggerated surprise face while Barbra refused to believe her. She said with no conviction on her voice:

– You wish!

– That's what I kept saying for him all these years... But you know how I get bored easily, so... It wasn't that bad for a one-time thing...

She could say and think a lot of things of her sister, but Barbra knew she wasn't the kind of person who vainglory herself for something that she didn't do. With hurt feelings, Barbra said with a bit of poison:

– You're disgusting. He's your cousin.

Anna smiled with sincerity.

– No, sweetie, he's your cousin! I have no blood lines to him. You wish you didn't right? So your little crush may come true? Although... I'm not sure if you're his type... You're a little too...

She looked with a mix of sympathy and poison to Barbra and smile, and then she shrugged and left, leaving her sister with a bitter taste in her mouth.
