Peter woke up to pain and whistling birds.

The only light coming into the dim room seemed to be coming from behind him. Most likely from a window. Where else would those whistles be coming from? The faint light was enough to blind him momentarily. As his eyes adjusted, he registered the origin of his pain. It came from his temple, sending pulses into his head. He could feel a few hairs sticking to his skin there, which felt stretched taught and weird. Like a face mask he'd tried with May once.

May.

He'd been in the apartment. She'd been there.. she.. where was she? His senses had gone off wildly, and he'd jumped to push her down- no, that wasn't May. Ned? Who..?

His eyes adjusted. He had to still be dreaming.

A bit to the left of him in what he discovered to be a small, bare room, were three people shackled to the wall, laid down on a large but skimpy mattress. He'd already figured he'd been kidnapped, but why would they have taken May, Ned and MJ as well?

He wanted to go to them, to check that they were okay, but he discovered himself to be bound to the wall too. There was one cuff clamped on each of his wrists, thick and heavy and digging into his skin. They were connected to the damp wall he was leaning against with, in his opinion, overly heavy chains.

He tugged at them experimentally and realized with a heavy heart that the people who had taken them knew who he was. They must know he was Spiderman, otherwise why would they cuff him with something measuring up in strength against vibranium? Hell, maybe it actually was vibranium! And the others' cuffs, they were different. Restricting and strong, sure, but not like his. The difference was visible.

Whatever confusion and drowsiness had still been there from waking up so disoriented, it sobered then.

He had been taken god knows where by people who knew about his enhancements and alter ego. His loved ones had been taken too, who knows why. His loved ones didn't know he was Spiderman.

Oh god.

He could only hope mr. Stark would be able to find him before his secret would be revealed.

But that wasn't the worst of his problems.

What if his kidnappers would hurt May? Or Ned? Or MJ? He couldn't let that happen. It didn't matter if they would resent him for who he was, or for how long he'd kept his secret. He couldn't let anyone hurt them.

It was his fault they were here. The assholes who took them, they had nothing to do with Peter's family. They only wanted Peter, or Spiderman. His blood was powerful, his skills were powerful, shit, even his connection to mr. Stark would be reason enough for people to take him. To hurt him.

He heard a shuffle. Skin moving against fabric, fastening breathing, the flutter of eyes.

"What.. Ow." it was Ned. He was slowly sitting up. Peter debated saying something, but decided he would let Ned's eyes get adjusted, first.

A moment later. "The fuck-? Oh my god. Shit, fuck, ow. Wait- Peter!? May? MJ! Jesus!"

"He isn't here, unfortunately." Peter quipped. Ned looked bewildered, moving around only to get stopped by his singular cuff that sat tight around his wrist. "Peter, what's happening? If this is a prank, I swear to god-"

"Of course it isn't! I don't know what happened, I just woke up."

Ned squinted as if he was thinking really hard about something. "So, we've been kidnapped."

"Apparently."

"Where- where were we? I remember, like, this really weird noise, like beeping or something."
