Walking lopsidedly on my ankles down the hall, Raven led me down a few hallways where I could make out the faintest sound of club music pulsating through the walls.

"Where are we going?" I asked, my calves already throbbing.

"Shush!" she barked. "You'll see when we get there."

We kept moving until we came to two doors where I could distinctly here the pounding music, loud enough and with enough bass to give me a headache within an hour.

Sliding me a wicked grin, she shoved the heavy doors open revealing blinding flashing lights and loud club music that felt like knives stabbing into my head. I winced and flattened my hands over my head.

"What the hell!?" I screamed over the music.

Raven beamed at me and waved me forward as if she knew talking wouldn't work with the loud noise that made my head swell. Warily and with half a mind to skip out of there, toss these shoes in a lake and curl up in a dark corner appreciating the quiet, I followed Raven through the thick crowd that bopped and grooved to the uncivilized jam. There were people everywhere, grinding and dancing, throwing back glowing colorful drinks, disappearing and reappearing through the hypnotic strobe lights.

"What is this place?" I yelled as we waltzed over to a mini bar that glowed like a beacon.

Raven leaned against the bar and grinned from ear to ear, looking hungrily to the dance floor. "It's called the Fall. We like to party sometimes, so we do it down here." I watched as she leaned forward to the bartender and whispered something into his ear. He nodded and walked away, mixing something in a silver container.

"Its great here, isn't it?"

I shook my head, blinking back the harsh light that hit me in the face, sending flashing stars through my vision. I hoisted myself up to a stool and felt comfort all the way down to my already aching feet. "This is nuts!" I screamed, messaging my ankle.

Raven beamed maliciously as she took the two drinks that frizzed violently in her hand. "Here, for you." She slid a shot glass towards me, a blue flame dancing on top of the bobbing ice.

I gawked, afraid to even lay my hands on it. "What is it?"

"It's called a screamer," said a low voice from behind me.

I spun around like a screw to face Demetrius's fiery dark eyes and a crooked grin, "My favorite." He reached out to snatch my glass and keeping eye contact, threw it down his throat, the flame disappearing past his lips.

"Hey!" Raven snapped. "Lilith was going to drink that!"

Demetrius smirked, his eyes flashing cat-like over to me. "She didn't look like she was going to."

I swallowed the joy from the sight of him, seeing how okay he was, how the paleness melted away from his skin. Images of him cringing on all fours, holding his bloody wound seemed to flood away from my mind, replaced by the cocky demon boy I remembered.

"Were you going to drink that?" His voice seemed to carry so lightly over the thick air of music. He didn't even have to yell.

"I was."

A shadow crossed over Demetrius's smile as he looked over to the bartender and nodded to him. "Another."

The bartender nodded and scurried off to make another drink. Meanwhile Demetrius turned his gaze back over to me, giving me a lazy once over.

"You seem okay," I said trying not to sound too enthusiastic.

He smirked. "Were you worried about me, snowflake?"
