"You sure about that?" He pulled her flush into him before they had made it completely inside.

"Mhmm." Smiling coyly at him.

"Come on girl." He smirked at her smile.

"What about Eissa?"

"I'll pick him up." He replied not pausing.

Darius extended his hand to her. Janet took it, feeling the familiar spark ignited between them from his gentle touch. One that she missed. He brought her in the house up the stairs, leading the way to their bedroom.

The room that even though he had wanted a tv, he acquiesced after she explained how she wanted it to be for them. A sanctuary for them both. Something that they had strived for when they moved in together, a place where they could escape the world and simply be. With each other. No distractions.

The absence of intimacy over the past few weeks weighed heavily on both of them. It wasn't just the physical connection they were missing. It was the emotional closeness that had defined their relationship. Something that they craved from each other. Something they were both used to with each other.

They'd forgotten to nourish the bond that had brought them together in the first place. And every now and again they needed that reminder. Janet felt the ache of longing deep within her.

Pregnancy had altered her body and her relationship in ways she had not expected. She loved Darius fiercely, but the demands of what her body was going through was taking a toll on her mentally and physically. She needed that reminder, especially after the emotional stress of meeting his mom. That had a major impact that she wasn't expecting.

As if knowing her thoughts, his warm hands enveloped hers as he whispered reassurances to her. He needed to know that she was good. That she was his everything in every way possible.

"It's not your fault, Janet. I know that's what you're thinking about right now. I love you, and that's what matters. We're building our own family together."

She breathed him in. Exhaling slowly. His scent. His love. His calmness. Nodding at his words.

Darius pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her waist gazing into her eyes.

"You're beautiful," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.

"I feel fat." She complained quietly laughing.

He chuckled. "You're not. Pregnancy only makes you more stunning." Meaning every word.

Janet smiled, feeling cherished in his embrace. Believing every word he spoke. "You always know how to make me feel loved."

"I know."

She shook her head at his words.

Darius gently kissed her hoping to reconnect with her. As they fell into each other, the world outside faded away, leaving only them. He kissed her soft skin. In that moment, they were not just parents-to-be; they were lovers, best friends, and soul mates.

Darius leaned in, brushing his lips against hers softly. The kiss ignited a spark that had been dormant. It was tentative at first, as if they were both testing the waters, remembering each other. Soon it deepened into something more passionate. Janet melted against him as a rush of desire surged through her. Her body responding instinctively to his touch, as if it had been waiting.

They pulled away, breathless, foreheads touching. "I've missed this," Darius said, his voice low and husky.

"Me too," she admitted, feeling the tension between them melt away. "I just... I don't want anything to come between us."
