The sun cast its rays through the window, brightening the bedroom where Janet gradually stirred awake. Her mind slowly wandered to the previous night. She needed him again as she stirred from rest.
Remembering how he consumed her. Not just her body, but her soul. The memory of them making up, of the passion that was rekindled caused her to smile. She sighed, stretching her limbs, feeling the memory of their intimacy. Her body ached and still buzzed from the memory of what happened. Just the two of them.
He had her up all night. He just couldn't get enough. Every time she thought that she'd get a break he was on her again. Licking her. Kissing her. Touching her. Him telling her that he loved her. He never let up. He never let go. He had her every which way in the room, on the bed. The bathroom when she tried to take a shower. One point on the floor of their bedroom.
She knew he was missing her, but she didn't know it would be like that. To that extent. And she couldn't lie once she got over how she felt about her body, which was pretty quickly-she couldn't stop either. He made her feel comfortable. She felt safe again. Wanted. Needed. All night he told her how beautiful she was.
In a sleepy haze, she reached over for him-there was nothing. As her eyes fluttered open, she felt for his warmth beside her again, but was met with an empty space. She popped up realizing that the time seemed late, but her alarm didn't go off. Why didn't it go off?
A flicker of panic washed over her as she sat up. Rubbing her eyes, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and padded toward the bathroom. But as her bare feet touched the cool floor, she noticed something unusual.
The house was quiet. Too quiet. Usually, the sounds of toys being scattered or the television blaring filled the air, but today, there was a serene stillness. It made her nervous. It made her internally panic.
Going back into the bedroom, she picked up her phone from the night stand. Glancing at the time on her phone, she realized it was late. She should've been up getting the kids breakfast and cleaning the house. Why didn't she hear Isabella crying? Looking over, she realized that the baby monitor was also off. Why would he turn it off? She quickly threw on her robe throwing some water on her face. Putting her hair in a bun, she paused glancing around the bathroom.
That's when she realized that the bathroom was immaculate. She glanced around coming back into the bedroom to also find it clean. The dirty laundry gone. The nightstands and dressers spotless. Even dusted. She went to Isabella's room not finding her in her crib, but again finding her room tidied up.
How did she not hear him moving around?
She shook my head in surprise. Going to even Eissa's room finding that it was clean.
She made her way downstairs. There were no toys in the hallway or in the foyer. Everything was clean and spotless. Shoes lined up neatly against the wall on the floor. It pulled at her heart. He didn't even go to his class. He stayed to let her sleep in.
