The smell of food spread through out the restaurant, as did the echoes of laughter from families and friends. "Heya, Aya-chan!" You brightly greet as you took a seat in the booth across from Ayame. Ayame had picked out one of your favorite restaurants to get dinner at, and even offered to pay for your meal while the two of you caught up.
"Welcome, my beloved sister-in-law!" Ayame responded, offering you a menu as he too looked through the food options. "Have you been waiting long?" You ask, taking the menu and reading through it, you were getting hungry at the thought of food already... your stomach even began to grumble.
"Not at all, my dear." He softly responds, waiting for you to finish picking your meal. You hummed in response before finally picking what you wanted. "Have you decided?" Ayame asked once more when you set down the menu. You nodded your head eagerly as he beckoned the waitress over and ordered for the both of you. You smiled at him, his kindness similar to his younger brother.
He then turned to you and smiled mischievously. "What? Why're you smiling cheekily at me?" You asked, laughing at his cheeky smile. "Nothing! I'm just waiting to hear all the good juicy stuff!" He said, crossing his arms on the table and watching over you. You laugh once more; understanding what he was getting at.
"Well.... Yuki and I, may... sort of, somewhat be in love with each other..." You say, getting shy at the fact that you were actually saying it out loud. "Tell me something I don't know yet! Are you guys dating?" He asks in excitement, smiling as you shake your head.
"Ah, no.. not exactly. I kinda wanna hold off for a little." You respond, choosing to skip over how you were trying to break the curse. "I just want things with Akito to calm down a little." You add, as Ayame hums in response, your food finally arrived and was placed in-front of you. "No need to bring down our mood, back to the lovey dovey stuff! Don't be shy, tell me everything!"
"It's not all that lovey dovey, just cute little things like holding hands, or him kissing my forehead, or little pecks.. you know?" You say, feeling rather shy, as you picked up your own utensils, and handed Ayame, his own. "Aw~! What a romantic! He obviously learnt from the best! Keep going!" Ayame responded, smiling fondly after hearing about his younger brother.
"Mmmm, lemme think. He's really soft with his words, so I thought his love language was something like words of affirmation.." You say, thinking to yourself, as you continued to eat your food. "But then again, any free time he has.. he finds a way to spend together, so it could be quality time?"
"Oh! But he's always doing things for me! So maybe could acts of service? But then again he's always holding my hand, or touching my hair, or pecking me.. so.." You add, rambling more to yourself rather to Ayame, but he didn't seem to mind at all, instead he eagerly listened. "Sorry, I was just yapping on." You suddenly realize and say, feeling shy all of a sudden. "No, no! As my brother, this is expected of Yuki, and I am beyond eager to hear of all this!"
"Anyway, Aya-chan, enough about Yuki and I. Who's the special girl in your heart?" You ask, already having a hunch on who he could like, you watched as he continued to sip on his drink, awaiting an answer. "Oh? Curious about your sister-in-law, are we?" Ayame cheekily asked, as you shook your head, laughing it off. "I meannnn, i did always want a sister!"
"Is it Minei-chan?" You ask, once again, noticing Ayame's facial feature soften, a light coat of blush covering his cheeks. You smile at his sudden change in expression, hitting it spot on. "How did you know?" He asks, feeling rather shy himself, as he focused more on his milkshake. "I saw the way you looked at each other, when I visited the store."
"Soooo, do spill all the juicy details, Aya-chan! Why do you like her?" You ask, while tasting Ayame's flavor of milkshake and realizing yours is better. "Well since you're asking... she's incredibly cute, and always in such a bright and happy mood, it's rather contagious!" He began, recalling a few of his own experiences with Minei.
"She always goes along with my random thoughts or ideas for costumes! She's kind and understanding.. and she's always there.. dealing with me.." Ayame rambled on, as you hummed in response, finding his expression similar to one you had seen Yuki make. "I'm very happy for you, Aya-chan."
"Well then what are your reasons for liking Yuki?" Aya asked, beginning to grow curious. "Oh! Well, we've been friends ever since we were children.. but he always tried to protect me, y'know? Despite being afraid himself, he always makes sure I'm okay and does everything in his power just to make me smile!" You responded, laughing to yourself.
"Most of all, much like you.. he keeps up with me, and just deals with me. It means a lot because I can get hectic sometimes.. it's like he lets me be myself, but grounds me when I start to spiral out!" You finish, glancing over at Ayame who was watching over in another one of his motherly gazes.
"Enough about me! Don't forget to invite me to the wedding!" You added, sipping on your milkshake. "Of course! Don't forget to come to me when you need your wedding dress to be made!" Ayame responded, finding this moment with you rather wholesome.
He was glad Yuki had such a person by his side, and that Ayame too had such a sweet little sister, who he could always gossip with, like this.. for the rest of eternity. "There's no one else I'd rather ask to make my wedding dress."
