Yuki sighed, leaving his mother's house. It never ended well when he came back "home." And this time he just couldn't shake off the annoyance that came from the fact that it took him so much courage to come see her... yet she herself wasn't home.
"Ki-chan!" He heard a familiar voice call out, a wave of relief washing over him as his mood lifted when he saw you. "(Name)? What're you doing here?" He asked, watching as you leaned on the wall, with your arms crossed. "I was waiting for you, silly." You tell him, as you made your way to where he was.
"Well? Did you tell your mom about parent teacher conferences?" You asked, as the two of you began your way back to the entrance of the estate, so you could see Yuki off. "She wasn't home. Instead, I left the form with the maids." He told you, after sighing deeply.
"Onnn the bright side, atleast you got the job done without having to see her." You say, trying to ease his mind, however Yuki just hummed, while being deep in thought. A silence fell over the both of you, and the walk turned quiet. "Is there something bothering you, besides your mother?" You asked, after a moment of silence, glancing at Yuki as he frowned.
Yuki looked at you, a concerned expression on your face as you awaited an answer. He felt bad that he was always depending on you, and that he was barely ever there when you needed him. However, what clouded his mind the most right now was... your brother, Haru. He sighed once more. "Well it doesn't affect me, personally."
"Either way, what is it? You know I'll always listen to you." You say, turning your head away as you looked at the pretty sceneries of the Sohma estate. "Earlier at school today, Haru and I talked for a bit." Yuki began, as you hummed in response letting him know you were listening. "It was about Rin."
"He told me how the more time passes, the more he thinks she actually meant what she said." Yuki tells you. For a moment, You think back to your encounter with Rin, her expressions and words allowed you to see just how much Haru meant to her, and how she wished to protect him. There wasn't a single chance that she meant what she said to Haru. However... you could see why Haru would think that way.
You sigh, beginning to see how this could be a problem. "He told me he was hurting really bad, and that he was scared." Yuki added, glancing over at you as you frowned, he gently rested his hand on your head, softly ruffling your hair in hopes of easing your mind, but you were to deep in thought to notice. You and Rin simply had to break the curse fast enough, and then everything would be okay, they would definitely go back to the way they used to be. You were sure of it.
"They'll be okay. Soon, things will get better between them. Haru just needs to wait a little longer.." You quietly say, clenching your fist at the thought that this curse is hurting so many people at once. Yuki wanted to ask how you could be so sure? What if Rin had actually meant what she said to Haru? But instead he stayed quiet, simply agreeing with you.
The two of you continued to walk in silence, each mulling over your own thoughts. Until.. Yuki came to a halt. "What's wrong?" You ask, however before you could get answer, Yuki began running. "Rin! Stop!" He yells as he began to chase after Rin, dropping his backpack. You pick it up, before following the two of them into the woods, chasing after the two of them. "Rin! Wait!"
They eventually come to a halt when Yuki grabbed her wrist. "Guys..." You mumble, out of breath as you lean against a tree for a moment to catch your breath. "Rin! Wait, I need to talk to you!" Yuki says in frustration as Rin attempts to shake him off.
"Rin, were you serious when you dumped Haru?" Yuki asks, as Rin comes to a halt. You take a deep breath, unsure of if you should get involved or not. "He told me you two were dating." He quietly adds on, awaiting an answer. But Rin refused to answer him, instead she stayed silent and glared at the ground. Yuki sighed at her silence, finally letting go of her, before saying, "Rin, I remember something."
