"Isuzu-chan... are you sure this is a good idea?" You whisper, quietly following Rin as she crept around Shigure's home.. looking for a clue that would break the curse, she seemed convinced that Shigure knew the secret to breaking it. Rin glanced back at you, placing a finger over her lips in hopes of shushing you.
You let out a soft sigh, simply following her into Shigure's room and helping her look through all his old books and archives. "He dodged my questions earlier." She whispered after a while, you watched as she continued to look through the box in her hand. "Gure-chan did...? About the curse?" You asked, as she hesitantly nodded. "Are you... sure he knows?"
"No documents or anything here, even though we've been looking for awhile now." She responded, frustration evident in her tone as she dropped the box she was holding. "Maybe it's buried farther in or in storage?" She responds to herself, the frown on her face deepening... almost turning into a scowl. "We can keep looking if you'd like." You respond, making your way to her side.
You noticed the tired expression on her face, the way she had thinned and the way sweat dripped down her face. "I'm sure that he knows something." Rin responded, clenching her fists... however you began to grow rather worried about her, she looked as if she was ill. "Maybe we should stop for today, you don't seem too well."
"It feels like he's hiding something." She said, ignoring you as you placed a gentle hand on the small of her back. "Isuzu-chan..." You call out once more, she snapped out of her train of thought, turning back towards you. The two of you stood in silence for a moment.. until she suddenly clasped a hand over her mouth, and crouched down. "I knew it... are you okay?"
"I feel sick..." She mumbled, as you crouched down beside her, softly rubbing her back. "I know this is important to you, it's important to me too.. but your health is important." You tell her, softly rubbing her back as she let out a shaky exhale. "How about we take a break for today? And try again when you feel better?" You suggested, waiting for a response.
"I...." Rin began, attempting to push herself to stand up however her body had grown too weak, and instead she stumbled, allowing you to catch her in your arms. "I'm taking that as a yes from your body." You say, watching her rest her head on the crook of your neck as you continued to rub her back. "Don't push yourself too much, and remember that i'm here by your side.. every step of the way."
"He is too.." You whispered, feeling the way she clenched a part of your shirt in her hand. "...the two of you are similar." She mumbled into your shirt, as you softly chuckled at her words. "Me and that idiot? Sure." You sarcastically say, watching as a smile made its way onto Rin. The two of you sat there for a moment longer until Tohru suddenly opened the door, clutching a pan in her hand along with an expression of pure fear.
"(Name)-chan?! Isuzu-san! I thought someone had broken in!" She said, clutching her chest as she let out a sigh of relief. "Sorry, Tohru-chan." You responded, offering her a warm smile. Rin twitched from beside you, she suddenly sat up, before clamping a hand over her mouth once again. "T-tohru-chan! Trashcan!" You called out, as Tohru scrambled to find a trashcan and place it beside Rin.
Rin threw up into the trashcan moments after, as you held her hair behind and away, in addition to softly rubbing her back while Tohru went to get a washcloth and some water for her. "It's okay. You'll be okay." You reassured her, as she continued to barf into the can. She collapsed into your arms once she was done, her trauma suddenly acting up once more as she fainted. "Isuzu-chan?!"
You moved the hair out of her face, watching her irregular breathing and began to grow even more worried, her brows furrowed as she clenched her fists to the point where they began to grow white, and let out fast, shaky exhales. "W-what do we do?" Tohru asked, making her way towards the both of you. "Hang in there. You're going to be okay. Deep breathes." You continue to say, unsure if she could hear you or not.
"What's going on?" Yuki asked, walking into Shigure's office with a confused expression on his face. "I.. She.. We.. Isuzu-chan.." You blurt out, looking up at him with a panicked expression on your face. "Hey, it's okay. Calm down, and tell me what happened." Yuki said, attempting to keep his tone calm as he crouched down beside you. Kyo approached Tohru, a similar worried expression on his face. "She threw up.. and then fainted.."
"Okay. I'll go call Hatori. She's going to be okay." Yuki responded, getting up to go to the phone. Kyo let out a sigh, and glanced at the both of you, "Let's get her into bed." He added, taking it upon himself to hoist her into his arms and take her up the stairs.. leaving just you and Tohru in the room. The two of you glance at each other, the same worried expression on each of your faces.
"S-she'll be okay.." Tohru said, her voice shaky in fear at the sudden course of events. "She will. She's strong."
