(okay so i was thinking (name) is always so happy and cheery and we don't see her weaknesses enough, so i wrote this filler chapter :))
It was saturday evening, and despite it being so early into the evening.. the gloomy rainy sky outside made the sky seem darker than it originally was.
You had taken the day to come visit Yuki at Shigure's house, since the poor guy was left home alone today. While Yuki finished a book for his literature class on his bed, you laid beside him fast asleep to energize yourself after an exhausting morning you had.
Yuki let out a sigh, after deciding to take a break. He took the moment to turn to you, your warm presence beside his... he watched as you slept peacefully beside him, a small distance between the two of you in case Yuki's body touched yours. He wished he could scoot closer, enough to close that distance but he was within the confinements of the curse and so he couldn't.
He glanced at your face, the way you looked so full of life even in your sleep. He reached over, gently brushing the hair stuck on your face. He watched as you turned towards him, your brows furrowing as a sudden frown on your face... Your breath got caught in your throat, as you let out a soft groan.
Yuki blinked in surprise, turning towards you fully, "Hey..." He softly said, brushing the hair away properly and watched as your face twisted in distress. "(Name)?" He called out once more, watching the way your hands clenched the blanket. He softly placed his hand overs yours, giving it a squeeze.
A quietness took over the room again, the only thing that could be heard was the pitter patter of the raindrops against the window. You let out a strangled gasp and suddenly jolted up, as you pushed yourself to sit up straight. Your eyes were filled to the brim with tears, as you clutched your chest finding it hard to breathe.
You found it suddenly heard to breathed and your rapid pace of exhaling and inhaling only got faster. You attempted to focus on the wall, attempting to calm down your racing mind. "(Name)," Yuki called once more, pushing himself to properly sit up beside you. He rubbed circles into your back softly, as you hesitantly turned your head to him, letting out a shaky exhale.
"You're okay. I've got you. You're here with me." Yuki softly said, reaching out to cup your cheek drying the tears that ran down your face. "I-i.. y-you.." You stopped speaking, letting out yet another shaky exhale and attempting to form the words in your head first. "It's okay, take your time." Yuki calmly said, continuing to soothe you.
His heart clenched at the way you had looked at him with fear, you were always so happy and cheerful that he almost never saw moments of your weakness, or fears. And it hurt his heart to see you like this. He gently looped an arm around your waist, pulling you closer towards him.
He softly guided you into his arms, as you rested your head at the crook of his neck, grabbing fistfuls of his shirt in your clenched hands. You were close enough for him to barely hold you, yet far enough that the curse wouldn't activate.
The sound of his heartbeat echoed through your ears, and you focused your attention on that.. allowing yourself to calm down slightly. "I-i was alone..." You shakily said into his chest, as he softly combed his fingers through your head.
"You.. you left me. Everyone was gone." You added, inhaling deeply in hopes of soothing yourself. "I'm not going anywhere." Yuki responded, his voice barely louder than the rain outside. "I'm right here."
