When the 23rd finally rolled around, I had just finished putting up lights in my room when I heard my phone go off. I scurried over to it and shook my head reading the text.

From: Chace

I'm outside... come get me before I freezeeeeeee!

I climbed down the ladder from my room and ran downstairs to the front door. Swinging it open, "Lazy much?"

"Hey now, I was afraid i'd lose my hand if I took it out to knock." he countered.

"But you can take both out to text?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Alright you got me." he admitted and I finally let him in. "I can't believe you were gonna let me freeze," he joked then raced me upstairs to my ladder, calling a quick hello to my parents. I made it to the ladder first and started climbing when I felt arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me off. I smacked Chace in the side as he climbed the ladder, leaving me on the ground. I pursed my lips, "You suck." I joked as he sat on my bed looking around.

"Still put the lights up I see." I smiled slightly, I still get surprised when he remembers everything we did together or that I did almost ten years ago.

"Pick a movie, dork. I'll be right back." I suddenly thought of something very important. Soon the smell of pop corn and hot chocolate wafted up my nose. I inhaled the beautiful scent of food and went back upstairs with it all somehow. "Chace!" I called and he appeared. I handed him the popcorn and his hot chocolate so I could climb the ladder. Once I got back in my room I saw the intro for Tim Allen's "The Santa Clause" "You know when we start this we have to watch all three..." I challenged.

He shrugged, "Fine by me, this is the only series about Christmas that I don't have too many problems with."  I shook my head at him as he settled in a bean bag chair in front of the tv. I sat in the one next to him sipping my hot chocolate. I felt myself sliding across the floor as Chace pulls my chair closer. I couldn't help but laugh at him.

"So Kyle knows about tonight? Or should I expect a call and he'll be joining us?" Chace joked and I rolled my eyes.

"No, he knows. He's got something planned with his family anyway." I shrugged.

We focused on the movie then, we barely talked, making a few jokes about something or laughing at something funny from the movie every now and then. By the time the movie was over, I checked the time. 11. Wow we got a late start. Chace suddenly stood up, he had a goofy grin on his face and he held his hand out to me. "Dance with me." he half announced half asked.

I shook my head, "I'm comfy here. Besides, no music." I smirked up at him.

"Oh contraire." Chace pulled out his phone and turned on Rhythm of love." my favorite song, and threw his phone on my bed.

I shook mu head, setting my cup on the floor beside my chair then took his hand, "Your crazy."

He spun me to the open space in my room and we started dancing.

At first we were just spinning in circles together like goof balls, throwing our heads back in laughter. "Your a mighty fine dancer." I joked, smiling up at him.

"Why thank you." he stepped away from me just enough so he can bow real low then came back up and jumped in dancing again, "As are you mah lady."

I shook my head laughing. For the rest of the first half of the song we kept like that. But after awhile we calmed down and actually danced like normal people. I sighed, laying my head on his chest. Perfection.

Chace's POV

I don't know what had come over me when I asked her to dance with me in the middle of her room. All I knew right then was I wanted to dance with her. This might be the only chance I get for a long time... or ever.

At first we joked around but once the sugar high wore off, we went quiet and stepped in circles normally. I heard her sigh and she rested her head on my chest. I couldn't help but smile to myself.

So this is what heaven feels like.

If only she were mine. But she's happy with Kyle, and if she's happy, I'm happy.

When the song ended she pulled away and looked up at me, "Merry Christmas... loser." she smirked at me, which I returned.

"Shut it, bigger loser." I laughed as we sat back in our bean bag chairs. She propped her feet on my lap and smirked challengingly.

Me? I just pulled off her slippers and rubbed her feet as The Santa Clause 2 started.

Merry Christmas indeed. I've never felt better than I do now in my life.
