Chapter Eight~ Trouble's brewing

*A FEW WEEKS LATER*

~Alexis's POV~

Chace wants me to come watch him play his first football game this year. He said it was because "You never got to see me play, so I didn't want to deprive you're eyes of my awesomeness." I had rolled my eyes at that but told him i'd be there. I finally re-registered my license- I could have driven before but I wanted it to be from here not Florida- so all thats left... Is to get a car. I sighed thinking about it on the walk home from school.

I walked up the driveway to see a red convertible with a banner on the back saying "for Lexi" written in big black letters. I ran up to the car and honked the horn twice, I heard the front door open. My parents walked out, followed by Chace... And Chloe. My smile flickered slightly at the sight of her in her cheer uniform, which just showed off her tan, making her look even more golden. My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a warm embrace from Chace.

"I'm gonna miss my chauffeur." I fake sniff, "How will I ever go on?" I felt Chace chuckle slightly then he pulled away. Chloe took the chance to link their arms together and glare slightly at me. I remember what Chace said on our pizza thing, "she's a lot like you" of course she's a lot like me, thats why we were such good friends in summer camp. Chace checks his bare wrist and sighs "Oh look at the time, we really must be going. I will see you at the game Lexi?" I nodded and he smiled, walking off with Chloe.

A little while later I was talking to my old girl bestie's, Sarah and Willa over the phone. Sarah had long Dirty blonde hair, with bangs that just went over one eye, with blue eyes, Willa had a medium length brown hair, with bangs that went over one eye to, she had brown eyes. Sarah had just gotten dumped by her boyfriend Dustin after six months. We had caught up real quick over the weeks I've been in school. "You CAN'T go to the game!" Sarah said, "Yeah, Chloe is just gonna find a way to make you look like a fool." Willa said. "Which is why you two should go. To help me with Chloe. And so Sarah can stop shoving ice cream in her mouth and quit crying over that dumb ass Dustin"

Sarah laughed. "Fine." They both said "But we are taking you're car, so pick us up?" Willa said.

I laughed slightly "Okay" I agreed with them, then we hung up. I stood, finally changing into the outfit I mentally prepared for while I was on the phone with Sarah and Willa. The outfit I chose was a white tank top, a red and white varsity hooded jacket, light blue ripped skinny jeans, and a white beanie, and black abigail boots. I curled my hair but only at the ends, I put on pink lip gloss, and black eyeliner with black mascara. The school colours are red and white so, I wanted to wear those colours to cheer on Chace. It's getting REALLY cold now that its nearing October. I walked down the stairs and ran out to my car, which now had it's top up. I immediately started it and blasted the heat. After a few moments I could move my hands and drove to Sarahs house since hers was closer.

When I pulled into the driveway I texted Sarah and said that I was outside. No way was I going back out into the cold until we got to the school. After a few seconds, Sarah came running out and slung herself in my car closing the door quickly after her. She was wearing a red t-shirt, dark blue skinny jeans, black ugg boots, a black beanie, a short brown trench coat, her hair curled, with black eyeliner that went into a wing, and mascara. Thank you person who invented the heater!" She yelled to know one, buckling up. She smiled over at me "Well what are you waiting for lets go get Willa then go watch our boys kick ass!" She cheered and we laughed. As I pulled out of her driveway she turned the music on as I drove to Willa's house.

As I was pulling into the driveway Sarah texted Willa to
Tell her we were outside. She came running out and got into the backseat. She had on a black and white tank top, black ripped skinny jeans, a white barbour winter jacket, black and blue high tops, a grey scarf, a fishtail braid to the side, for makeup she had on just mascara.

When she got in she yelled "lets go see our boys win b*tches!!"

We looked at her and laughed, I pulled out of the driveway and headed towards the school. The whole way there we laughed and sang along to the music. I pulled into the lot and told Sarah to turn the music off, I found a spot and parked, We stepped out of the car, and I locked it and stuck the keys in my pocket. Hugging ourselves and quickly ran to the bleachers which is thank fully full of people, so it should be warm with everyones body heat.

Sarah, Willa and I all slid into a spot and we watched the first kickoff. I felt a tap on my left shoulder suddenly, then turned to see Matt smiling down at me, "Hey, I almost didn't recognize you." I don't blame him, I try my best to avoid beanies. "How've you been?"

I look over to see Sarah and Willa flirting with two guys, one with blonde skater hair, with green eyes (I think his name was Kyle) who was flirting with Sarah, the other talking/flirting with Willa had brown skater hair and hazel eyes (I think his name is Dalton) then I turn back to Matt "I've been great." Next thing I knew we were in a full blown conversation. It lasted like that through the whole game. "Hey." Matt snapped his fingers as if suddenly remembering something, "There's gonna be an after party at Shawn's house." He pointed to number 39 on the field, "You wanna go?" I thought it over and smiled at him, "Sure."

Matt smiled down at me, "Are you cold? You're cheeks are a little red..." I picked up on what he was saying immediately then nodded, getting under his arm. Hey, he was a cute guy. He had brown hair and blue eyes, a year older then me, and he was obviously interested in me... whats a girl to do?

We watched as Chace scored the winning touchdown. We jumped up along with everyone else, and cheered. Willa and Sarah pulling me down to the field, "Are you going to the after party? A guy asked me to go and we're gonna need moral support..." They both asked me, I felt someone come up behind me, I looked up to see Matt and nodded at them "Totally gonna be there." They smiled and hugged me then ran off to those two cute guys they were talking to earlier. Note to self: interrogate them for details after the party.

I looked up to see Chloe run up to Chace and kiss him (seen in the picture above). She pulled away smiling, she told him something then ran off. Chace's eyes scanned the crowd, when his eyes landed on me he smiled, only to have it disappear when he see's i'm standing with Matt. He pushed through the crowd, coming over, "Hey, liked that last run?" He smirked at me.

"Loved it, show off." I smirked back.

Then Matt spoke up, "Hey cuz, i'm gonna ride with Lexi to the party. That way you can have you're car all to you and... that thing you call a girlfriend.

I cut Chace off before he got into trouble, "You two are cousins?" Chace nodded, I heard him mutter 'sadly' under his breath. I smiled slightly, no wonder Chace doesn't like him hanging around me. Wait- why would Chace care who I went out with? I wonder if he.. No that's stupid, he obviously doesn't like me the way I like him, right?

Matt leads me to the lot and I look back at Chace and the look on his face says it all. He really doesn't like me and Matt together. The question is... Why?
