Chapter Ten ~ he wouldn't

Alexis's POV

It was even better than a dream (the dream she had in chapter five) The problem: I was so shocked I didn't even know what to do. I didn't kiss back, I didn't touch him, I just stood there, eyes closed, the only things going through my head was the dream and Matt. I couldn't be disloyal to Matt... although all I desperately wanted to do was throw my arms around Chace and kiss him back with everything I had.

But I didn't.

He pulled away. "Matt.." his eyebrows were crinkled. "Right. sorry. um. i'll just" he gestured to his car and walked away before I could say anything. I watched as he sped off down the street. I sighed heavily, going inside.

The next day Matt had called me and asked to take me out to lunch. He offered to go to the pizza place that Chace and I always went to. Every fiber in me told me to pick a different place, that was Chace and my place, but I didn't. He said he would get me in an hour. I quickly changed into a grey pullover, light blue skinny jeans, black flats, pink lipstick, eyeliner, mascara and lightbrown-silvery eyeshadow, I brushed and straightend my hair, and put a black bow in it. I walked downstairs, to be greeted by Matt at the bottom. I didn't even here him knock, my parents must have opened the door.

"You look beautiful as always" Matt smiled at me, which I returned. I pulled on a plain black jacket as he led me out the front door after I yelled goodbye to my parents. Turns out Matt doesn't have a car of his own, so he asked if we could take mine. I mentally pursed my lips as I pulled out my car keys. No car and he's a Senior... This could be a problem. I thought as we climbed in my car.

We sat in silence- the kind of silence where you want to say something but you don't really know what to say- the short drive there, and an even more awkward silence while we drank our soda's. I finally spoke up. "So how was the party after I left?"

"Well Chloe had a huge hissy fit and tried to trash you and Chace, but of course everyone loves you two so they didn't really... Appreciate it. They kicked her out and I heard everyone hates her now." I couldn't help but laugh, "Yeah. Okay tell the truth."

"That was the truth." We both laughed, "It was pretty funny... But weird how everyone stood up for you two. It's like nobody has anything bad to say about you guys." I shrugged, then he looked over, "Speak of the devil."

I looked over and saw Chace walking our way. When he made it, he looked at me, "Can we talk?" I looked over at Matt, "Go ahead," I smiled at him and stood walking out front with Chace. "Yeah Chace?"

"Matt and Chloe got together last night."

"What? No, no he wouldn't cheat on me..." I stepped away from Chace slightly.

"Opal told me that Chloe started talking about you, and everyone stood up for you. Then Chloe went up to Matt and..." He pulled out his phone, pulling up the text Opal sent him. "Just read it." I took the phone from him and read:

"After Chloe dumped you and stormed off, she totally like pushed me aside and ran up to Matt. She was all. 'Oh my gosh it worked. We finally can be together.' He totally shoved his tongue so far down her throat i'm surprised she didn't choke. When they finally pulled away she asked if he was still with Lexi. He said yes and she was all 'perfect' and went on about how she was going to break Lexi's heart. I normally wouldn't be telling you this, but since Lexi moved back, Chloe has been acting like a total bitch.

I shook my head, giving him his phone back. I couldn't believe it. How could someone be related to sweet, loving Chace and be the exact opposite? "No. Opal is Chl- Chloe's best friend. She was probably told to text you that to make me dump Matt. Thanks, Chace but I don't believe it." I turn and head back inside.

Chace's words stop me as I reach the door, "You should believe it. But, since I can't prove it to you, you'll have to see yourself..." I stood there for a moment then turned opening my mouth to speak, but Chace was gone. I sigh heading back inside. Matt wouldn't cheat on me... Would he?
