Chapter Nine~ The party

(First one is mine, second one is Willa's and the last one is Sarah's)

Matt had drove to the party. He was surprised I let him drive my new car, but in all honesty, I trusted him to take care of a car like this, and plus he knew how to get there. When we pulled up I saw Chace watching us carefully with an annoyed looking Chloe tugging on his arm. He waited until we walked up to move. "Glad you made it." He called over his shoulder to us. Matt and I exchanged a look and followed them.

The party was amazing! The huge house was full of people to brim. There were people inside, outside, everywhere! Matt pulled me out back, where everyone was dancing. We laughed and danced over the song goofily.

After what seemed like two minuets- it was probably a half hour- I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned to see a smiling Chace. "May I cut in?" His gaze went to Matt who pursed his lips "Thanks" he said before Matt could answer. Pulling me towards the centre of the dancing crowd. Chace and I soon began what Matt and I were doing. But this time I felt something.

Too bad he didn't.

~Chace's POV~

I sighed as I pulled away from Chloe's embrace. Ever since Lexi moved back, kissing Chloe just didn't make me feel like I used to. "Chace..." Chloe started, but I cut her off "I'll be right back." She huffed as I pushed my way through the crowd. I finally found who I was looking for. Lexi.... Dancing with Matt. Now i'm going to hear him brag about it at home. His parents died last year so now he's staying with us. I pushed my way over and tapped on Lexi's shoulder. She turned and I smiled, "Mind if I cut in?" I barely glanced up at Matt, "No? Thanks" i pulled her deeper into the crown as far away from him as possible.

We danced together for quite some time. I couldn't leave her even if I wanted to; she was beautiful. Her eyes lit up when we started dancing, and her smile blew me away. I never realized how much I missed her. I opened my mouth to speak but she spoke first, "Matt asked me out..." I stopped moving "What did you say?"

"I said yes." I immediately felt wiped out. I don't even understand why she effects me this way. I have a girlfriend who I love very much.. Besides, Lexi's just a friend.., I couldn't
Even convince myself anymore.

Then shouting was heard over everything. The music stopped along with everyone else. I looked down to see Lexi's eyes grow big and she started pushing her way through the crowd. Oh no.

I followed and we came into a clearing of the crowd to see two people in the middle of the circle. Sarah and Dustin. They were screaming at each other. Wait weren't they together? "You dumped me for this skank!?" As she gestured to a barely dressed blonde. Now it made sense.

"So what if I did! You were a stuck up, clingy pain in the ass compared to her!" Dustin yelled back, ouch. Sarah's face fell and Dustin spoke up before she could, "Besides, aren't you here with a date anyways?"

"I didn't come to show him off with my tongue!" She snapped then looked through the crowd. She found Lexi and Willa and gave them a look. I tensed up as Lexi walked out there, Willa beside me.

"Alexis Cane..." Dustin nodded at her "You've grown up" he grabbed her waist and pulled her to him, oh hell no. She pushed off him, but he was persistent, not letting her go and whispering in her ear. I couldn't take it anymore. I walked out there and split them up, "Come on Dustin lay off."

He smirked at me "What, Chace got a crush?"

"No, but i'm about to crush you." Then we got into each others faces. I felt a hand on my arm and looked down to see Lexi looking up at me, shaking her head. I glared back at Dustin and we pushed away from each other. "Thanks, Chace..." Lexi hugged me, I hugged back. Then she walked over to a crying Sarah.

Thats when a soaking wet Chloe pushed through the crowd "I see you help this, this loser, but you don't save you're girlfriend from getting thrown in the poll by you're cousin?" I looked up to see Matt smirking. "I'm about this close to dumping you! You're with me then you're not with me, ever since SHE came back!" Chloe jabbed her finger at Alexis.

"You think she was Oh-So-Cool in up in Florida, but she wasn't! i did my research, she was a NOBODY! She didn't go to any parties, she had like TWO boyfriends the whole time she was up there. She was as anti-social as they come!" I looked over at Lexi who was glaring at Chloe, who was looking at me "If you're falling for her, just know that your falling for a nobody, a loser a freak!"

I didn't really care what happened to her in Florida. I still want to be with her, all the time. Chloe seems to think that it would change how I look at Lexi, but it doesn't. Of course. I couldn't say this because she is with Matt now... But I had an idea. I shrugged, "At least Lexi's not a narcissist."

Chloe gasped at me "That's it, we're over!" I shrugged again and Chloe whipped her wet hair in my face before storming off. I looked at Lexi who's face was red. She looked over at me, "I'm just gonna take Sarah and Willa home... Thanks again." She called Willa over and turned walking away with Sarah and Willa.

I sighed, then got an idea as the party started up again. I ran out to my car and took the long way to Lexi's house. Perfect timing. She was walking from her car inside, hugging herself tight as the cold air hit her. I pulled in and got out of my car, "Lexi!" I called running to her. She turned smiling slightly at me "Hey Chace..."

"I need to tell you something." I started

"Okay, Come inside out of the cold." She started backing up to the door. I shook my head "It'll only take a second..."

Lexi sighed and nodded at me "I just wanted to let you know what Chloe said didn't bother me at all, I don't think it bothered anyone really, and maybe she was right about everything she said... it didn't bother me when we broke up because you're here. I was thinking on my way over here about everything... I only went out with girls that reminded me of you. Chloe lasted so long because she was almost an almost exact match. When she broke up with me, I didn't care because I realized I broke my promise.... I let her replace you ." and before Lexi could say anything, I kissed her.
