I heard my own laugh ring in my ears as Chace threw me over his shoulders and ran through a field. I shrieked lightly, holding my dress down. "Chace, put me down!"" I laughed harder.
"No, you have to wait." His voice sent shivers down my spine. He slowed to a walk but didn't let me down. After a long bit of walking, he set me on my feet at the top of a hill overlooking a beautiful flowery plain. I felt my hand cover my mouth, "Oh my gosh... Chace!"
He cut my off, "Oh there's more." He took my hand and led me down to the flowers. As we got closer, a picnic set became visible, blending in with the flowers from so high up, I couldn't see it before. Again, my hand flew to my lips as I gushed over how amazing he was.
"Oh its nothing." He smiled and sat down on the blanket. "Anything for my best girl." I felt my cheeks heat up as they turn rosey. We ate little snacks as we talked. He didn't mention Chloe at all.
"Lexi," he smiled at me, "would you like to dance?"
"In the middle of all these flowers? Of course! But... I never really took interest in learning how to dance... So i'am not very good..." His eyes grew wide a tidge, then he smiled "it's easy... here" he stood and pulled me up with him. He holds my hand as he leads me through the flowers to an open space so nothing gets stepped on.
Chace takes my hand in the air, and then wraps his other hand around my waist, and I feel my own free hand rest on his shoulder. "Okay... On my feet" he starts then sees my skeptical look and continues "It's fine Lexi. You're not going to hurt me, you don't weigh that much."
I laugh nervously as I weightlessly step on his feet. He smiled at me and kissed my nose, "See, that wasn't so hard..." I rolled my eyes as Chace began taking steps, me on his feet. When we started, I couldn't take my eyes off our feet.
Suddenly he stopped moving. "I'm sorry, this... this isn't working." Before I could react he clapped his hands and a small group of violinists emerged and started up a song. I felt my eyes sparkle with happiness as Chace took my hand and waist again, stepping to the music much better then before.
I smiled at him, "You're amazing..."
"I've been told." He smiled bright, his teeth sparkling
"Oh really?"
"Really." He wiggles his eyebrows coughing for me to laugh.
We dance in silence for a moment, then he looks into my brown eyes, "Lexi... can I tell you something kinda personal?"
"Of course." I smile at him "What else are best friends for?"
He takes a few deep breaths, "Lexi, I love you. I love everything about you. You're eyes, you're smile, you're laugh, the colour you're cheeks turn when you blush... Everything. I love you so much it hurts."
I felt like my breath had been taken away. But didn't have time to talk anyway, because soon as Chace stopped talking, he pressed his lips to mine gently. I kissed back automatically with every ounce of passion I had for him. He quickly returned the same amount of passion as we kissed, our lips moving in sync. Doing an amazing dance together. As if we were meant for each other. I felt as if my heart exploded in my chest. I reached for his hair, but he pulled away. "I've loved you for the longest time..." He whispered.
I smiled as he rested his forehead on mine. "I've loved you for quite some time myself... So much" i felt the words slip off of my tongue.
He kissed my nose, "I'm glad you're parents changed their mind nine years ago about you moving."
Wait what?
I woke up with a carton of Chinese noodles in my hand. I sighed, putting what I didn't eat away. It was only a dream. An amazing dream... I just woke from the kind of dream that makes reality look like a nightmare.
