Clary
Clary watched speechless as Kyle and Lilly made their way to the dining table, hand in hand. They sat at the other end of the table from where Vanessa was sitting, so their backs were to her and Jace. She looked over at Vanessa in hopes her best friend could help her, but all she got was a wide-eyed Vy. Clary opened her mouth to say something, but Isabelle thankfully interrupted her.
"Nice of you two lovebirds to finally join us. Can you help me set the table Clary? I have to finish making this salad"
She mustered a nod, then walked over to the cupboard and grabbed six plates, along with the small rack of napkins that rested on the kitchen counter. Clary was about to lay the plates out, when Vanessa grabbed them from her.
"I'll lay them out for you. You and Jace can get the cups and the homemade apple juice I made earlier from the fridge."
Clary mouthed a silent thank you to Vy, because now she wouldn't have to go near a most-likely very agitated Kyle. She walked over to the cupboards again, grabbing Jace's arm so he would help her instead of just standing there. Clary grabbed four cups while Jace grabbed the apple juice, and the made their way to the table. Once again, Vanessa volunteered to pass out the cups, and they all sat down to a made table. The burritos were piled in pyramid formation in the center of the table. Vanessa had already began digging into her quesadilla, and Izzy had a burrito on her plate already as well.
As Jace used the tong-like utensil to put a burrito on both his and Clary's plate, Izzy asked, "So what are we going to do about Bethany. That bitch wants to kill us."
Kyle shrugged. "I don't know, I guess just sit around and wait until she strikes again?"
At the corner of her eye, Clary saw Isabelle roll her eyes.
"That's lame. I say we go back to that disgusting lair tunnel thing of hers with a bunch of other Shadowhunters from the Clave, and take her down." Vanessa got up. "Hey Izzy are there any more quesadilla's?"
With a quick jab of Isabelle's thumb towards the heaping pile of oily cheese and quesadilla wrap, Vanessa ran to the plate, and brought it back with her.
"Are you going to be able to eat that much? That's like ten quesadillas" asked Jace.
Vanessa chuckled. "I'm willing to bet you twenty dollars I can finish this before you can finish three of those burritos."
"I don't think I can even eat three of these horrid things, but sure."
Izzy glared at Jace. "Rude."
"I'm just saying what everyone is thinking Izzy."
"Well I for one thing that they're amazing." said Kyle, who was already on his second burrito.
Isabelle smiled. "See? My cooking is great."
"How dare you side with him over your own glorious brother?" Jace put his hand to his heart, as if it showed that his feelings were hurt.
"Speaking of brother, where is Alec?" asked Izzy.
"Probably at Magnus', which is where he should be considering Magnus got pretty badly damaged by Bethany the other day." Clary took another bite out of her burrito. It didn't taste bad, but it definately wasn't one of the best that she's ever had.
"Anyways, back Bethany, what do we do about her?" Isabelle took another burrito off the plate. "And what's her deal anyway. Why is she so evil."
All of a sudden, Vanessa let out a loud burp.
"Damn. I guess I owe you a twenty." Jace cringed.
"Yup. Pay up." said Vanessa, holding her hand out.
