Jace
Everyone looked at the Pentagram in utter silence. It seemed to go on forever. Finally, someone broke the peace. Jace looked up, expecting it to be Magnus, but instead it was the male Shadowhunter from New Jersey, the one who claimed he was Clary's boyfriend. 'He won't be Clary's boyfriend for much longer,' Jace thought to himself.
"I can't believe that just happened." he began.
"Well believe it. Your sister basically used me for the past what, four years? She even possessed me." snapped Jace. He knew he shouldn't have said that, but he just needed to get it out. He was upset with himself for not catching this earlier, but he was also almost hurt. No one has ever used Jace Herondale before. 'But would it really be using if Bethany didn't state a reason why she picked me? I could've just been unlucky.' thought Jace.
Someone snapped Jace from his thoughts. "What the hell Jace. Kyle isn't responsible for what just happened. He didn't even know his sister was still alive." yelled Clary.
Jace looked up and looked directly at Clary. He hadn't really gotten a good look at Clary, considering the second he walked into the Maryse's office, a very interesting and unexpected family reunion broke out. He noticed how much Clary had changed. Her hair was longer now, laying half way down her back. The curls were a lot softer than Jace remembered. Clary stood there, one hand in Kyle's, with confidence. The red flowy tank top complimented her hair perfect. It took every ounce of Jace's energy to prevent him from just going over there to pull her away from her new boyfriend, to just hold her and kiss her, to tell her he's sorry for all of those years.
"What are you looking at Jace?" smirked Isabelle.
He returned back from his little Clary fantasy. "Nothing," said Jace, through clenched teeth. He glared at Isabelle, who in return just rolled her eyes at him. "And if he kept track of his sister better, none of this would've happened."
"Excuse me." mutters Kyle, as he walked out of the room. But Jace didn't care. He was still looking at Clary.
"What wouldn't have happened Jace," Clary began. He could tell she was about to cry, but she was trying her hardest not to. "You cheating on me? Or me coming back here?" Clary runs out of the room.
The minute she leaves, Isabelle gives him a death glare. "Are you serious. You finally got her back, and now you're just pushing her away again?"
Jace doesn't know what to say, which is surprising. He always has something to say. Instead, he simply just stands there and watches as everyone starts filing out of the room in silence.
Clary
The minute the office's doors close, Clary sprints to Kyle's room. When she opens the door, she sees that Kyle is laying down on the bed, looking straight up at the ceiling. Clary closes the door quietly, and walks over to the opposite side of the bed, laying down next to Kyle.
"Are you ok?" asks Kyle.
"I was going to ask the same to you."
"I'm fine. It's kind of hard taking an insult from a douche you hardly know."
Clary chuckles to herself. "Then why did you leave?"
"I wanted to think about Bethany."
Clary sits up, using the headboard of the bed as support. "What have you thought about so far?"
"Well, lets see. I haven't seen her in years. Everyone thought she was dead. And now, I learn that my older sister is alive, and also part-demon. And I'm laying here wondering how the hell I'm not freaking out right now."
