Clary
The moment Clary arrived home, she took a shower. She had no idea how long she was in there, probably a day or two, but she felt disgusting considering she was in a cage in a dirt room.
After taking a hot steamy shower that left the mirror in her bathroom so fogged up she could barely see herself in it, she walked out of the bathroom only in a towel, and saw admiring the pictures on her desk.
He set the picture back down where it was, and put his hands in his pocket awkwardly. "Hey. I was hoping I could talk to you."
Clary got an uneasy feeling in her stomach. "Sure, but let me get dressed first." She walked over to her dresser and pulled out a loose, grey shirt and some jeans, then ran back into the bathroom to get dressed. She tried to take as long as she could, in hopes that Kyle would just leave, but unfortunately, thirty minutes later, he still was there, looking at another one of Clary's pictures.
"You took a while." Kyle put down the picture and this time, crossed his arms as if Clary were in some kind of trouble.
"Yeah, sorry I was," she paused briefly to think of an excuse, "Cleaning up my bathroom. It was a little messy from today and yesterday."
"You cleaned your bathroom when you knew I was out here waiting for you?"
Clary paused once again to try and rack her brain for more excuses. "It was really bothering me ok, I said I was sorry."
"Ok, whatever. Lets just talk."
"Alright." Clary made her way to her bed, and sat down. "Are you just going to stand there and talk to me, or are you going to come and sit?"
Kyle sighed, then walked over and sat down on the bed. There was a slight awkwardness to the situation, but Clary tried to convince herself to stay calm and collected.
'It's fine. We've talked like this many times before. Sure they weren't about how he cheated on me, but we still talked and it isn't a big deal.' Clary let out a breath she didn't know she had held. "So, what's up?"
"Clary, I think that we should break up."
It was an interesting way to start a conversation, but she just answered with a simple, "Okay."
"Wow, okay, that's it?"
"Well, what do you want me to say?"
"I don't know. I just didn't expect something that simple."
Clary rolled her eyes. Kyle was starting to get on her nerves, and she was wondering if he was always like that, and Clary had just ignored it. "Listen, I understand why we are breaking up, and to be honest I'm fine with it. At first, I was a little hurt that you would do it, but I've dealt with it, and now I'm over it. We'll always be friends."
Kyle just stared at her, dumbfounded.
Had he expected that she would react differently? Like sobbing and throwing herself at him? Because Clary was truly okay with their relationship ending, although, she was a bit upset that he would cheat on her.
Slowly, Kyle stood up. "Well then I guess it's over. I'll see you at dinner or something." He started for the door, but before leaving, he froze. "It took you longer than a year to get over Jace, and you still aren't over him, but it took only a couple hours for you to get over me. Did you ever really love me?"
There was a pause. Clary didn't know how to respond, because she was questioning herself that as well. Luckily, she didn't have to respond.
"Just think about that." Then he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him.
