Chapter 17

Luke Pov

These past few weeks have gone quite smoothly, we had started training some of the younger kids on weapons and hand-to-hand combat, there were almost no slip ups on who we actually are too. Though today felt different somehow.

A pillow hit my face and I sputtered awake, wildly looking for my next target. I saw Castor, Will, Michael and Annabeth standing over me. "Wake up lazy, it's your turn to wake her up". Once we stopped laughing our asses off last night at Ellie's boldness we came home and went to bed. I groaned and rolled off my bed, knowing that something bad was about to happen. I slumped my way past Michael who still had the pillow in one of his hands. When I finally reached her door and successfully rubbed the sleep from my eyes, I knocked before I pushed the door in. She was laying there spread eagle with her hair in her mouth.

She's so cute when she's asleep, I thought to myself. I made my way over to her bedside knowing very well that this is probably the worst idea of my entire life. I sighed, better get this over with. "Hey wake up sleepy, it's time to get up," I whispered ready to run if things turned south. It didn't work, after a while of pestering and shaking the sleeping beauty it was time to get creative. I picked up a pillow that she must have discarded in the night "last chance to get up Zoë," she didn't move man I really hate my team. I swung the pillow and it stopped in mid air, caught by a hand coming off of the bed. My eyes went wide. "THEY MADE ME DO IT!" I yelled as I bolted out the door and down the stairs into the living room. I saw her sprint down the stairs silently, her narrow and accusing eyes locked on me: I gulped.

Not thinking I ran to the door hearing the others laughing manically behind me. I ran outside past the strawberry fields, the rows of cabins and past many groups of gaping campers. I suddenly stopped, realizing how bad this situation was right now. Zoë ran into my back not noticing me stop so suddenly. "Zandra, we don't have our cloaks on," I said tentatively.

"That we don't," she said wide eyed, we locked eyes and had a silent agreement between ourselves we bolted back to the cabin. We heard various shouts of hey! Wait! I even heard my name in the mix once: that still didn't stop us. Until, that is, Grover stopped us right in front of the doorway to freedom.

"Luke? Zoë? Is it really you or are you just some Hermes kids making another prank?" he asked with tears in his eyes. He looked honestly distraught at the fact we were here. Not how I thought others were going to think of me coming back after all I did.

We might as well just tell him, but only about us. I said to Zoë through our mind-link. I sighed, "Yeah it's really us, and did you honestly think the Hermes kids could have set this up? I mean we've been dead for quite a while, I doubt they even know about us." I replied jokingly. This was met with a bone-crushing hug. I chuckled at his enthusiasm; maybe it won't be the way I thought I would be. "Yeah, yeah we miss you to but can we please go inside now?" I asked.

"Oh, yeah, sorry. Can I come in with you?" he asked hope in his voice.

Can Grover come in guys? He seems genuine about this. I asked the rest of the team that was still inside laughing their asses off.

Wait, you guys didn't have your cloaks on? Ooo I'm telling Fatherrrr. Michael drawled in a kid-like voice.

Yes he can come in, someone ou't to know who we are. Annabeth said begrudgingly.

"Yeah come right on in," I said cheerfully pushing the door in. He gaped at the size of our cabin, and then he looked at the rest of the team. As soon as he caught the faces of the rest of them he passed out. Everyone was sitting in random places around the living room and kitchen eating various breakfast meals. "You guys ate without me?" I whined watching Castor take a huge mouthful of red cereal. I stepped over Grover who I know would be just fine and made my way over to the kitchen to get two bagels.

"One of those bagels better be for me," Zoë said walking towards me to sit on the loveseat nearest to the kitchen. I quickly made another for her before she beat me like she almost did earlier today. Grover then decided to wake up with a groan.

"Fooodd, ugh I feel like I was hit on the head with coach's baseball bat," he said not opening his eyes.

"Well you only fell so it should feel like that," replied Michael not looking up from his toast and jam. Grover's eyes flew open and took in our stuffed faces. He immediately got up and ran over to hug Annabeth soon after giving the others a hug as well.

"Everyone thought you guys were dead! Except some of you are dead, I saw your bodies, how are you alive? Why are you alive? How did you come back? What happened?" he said in rapid fire.

"Well we are all dead except for Annabeth, Hazel, Piper, Calypso, and Will. They never died, Father found them and took them in, and then they asked to bring us up to become a part of the Saviors team," replied Silena coolly eating her pancakes as she told Grover everything.

"Though I did ask for Bianca but she already took rebirth, so if Nico asks tell him I'm sorry," Annabeth said brushing it off like it was old news. No one seemed shocked at this comment, we all knew that Bianca took rebirth and Castor was her replacement.

"So how did you get wings and tails then?" he asked pointing to the animalistic appendages.

"Father Chaos gave them to us as a result of joining him as his soldiers slash protectors."

Grover took everything in stride much to my astonishment. "Ok, so let me get this right. You five left because some things happened, and Chaos took you in and now you all have various animal things attached to you? Am I correct," I noticed the five wince when he said the reason they left.

"We only left because no one wanted us around, and the gods made us leave." Piper finished.

"So how come you five are the only ones with wings?" Grover asked motioning to their backs.

"We are The Saviors, we protect the galaxies. And now apparently earth, it was never our intention to come back." Annabeth said.

"Well we did; you five didn't," Castor interjected. Annabeth glared at him obviously annoyed at his remark. He replied by sticking his tongue out.

"Are you ever going to tell anyone else? I mean Percy, Jason, Frank, Leo, and Nico are in shreds. They never stopped thinking about you after you left. They still miss you," Grover said looking at us individually. My eyes widened I looked over to Silena and Bekendorf, he didn't know about their condition. Shoot.

"Who are those people?" Piper said sincerely confused about who Grover was talking about. "And we got kicked out by the gods,"

"What do you mean by whom?" We each tried motioning for him to stop talking but he just went on. "Never mind I'll get back to that. But you don't know the whole truth of what happened after you left exactly, the girls and guy that took your place messed with the mist or something I don't know what really happened: you'll have to ask the boys about that. But I know they were forced to fall for them. Whenever one of them suggested that we go look for you-their girlfriend or boyfriend- they denied them. They truly do love you, I'm just not so sure on the rest of camp." He paused for a quick second letting it sink in, the five were flabbergasted each of them equally confused about what Grover was saying. "Even the gods were under the spell for a little, when they realized what they did they immediately decided that you were no longer banished from camp. The campers though are still under the spell, they all hate you. The cabin leaders are miserable- Cally has everyone right under her thumb- the leaders just recently came out of it: they need you guys back, their spell is getting very weak. You could break it if something pushed them over. Something like reveling yourself." he looked at some of us hopefully.

We were silent for a long time, suddenly Will spoke: "what if only the ones that died reveal themselves, it might tip it but we wouldn't have to explain why we left and other things."

I thought it over, "it sounds good to me. I mean Zoë and I already screwed ourselves over, why not just tell them so we don't have to go through the trouble of trying to explain why we look exactly like some long lost friends." I said looking at each member of the team.

"I'd love to, and then we wouldn't have to pretend that we don't know our friends," Silena said looking up at Bekendorf.

"Ok it's settled we're going to tell them tonight at dinner," Michael exclaimed.
