Chapter 26

Calypso Pov

Will had opened the door while I was in the process of falling asleep. I groggily looked up to see Nico, standing there, doing absolutely nothing but gaping at us like he saw a dead person, and he sees those every day. "What's the matter, you look like you've seen a dead person," Will said as he grinned and elbowed him in the ribs once he made sure the door was secured for the night.

Nico just stood there still agape with shock and wonder, he lurched forward towards Annabeth and wrapped her in a hug. Now I've known Nico the least but I do know that he's not a hugger, unless it's to family or his boyfriend, so this came as a surprise to all of us, especially Annabeth. She stood there with her arms out wide in shock, her mouth hung open she looked at each of us in turn with Nico still around her waist. She slowly wrapped her arms around him, returning the hug. She broke out of the trance she was in and squeezed tight, holding on to him like she was a long lost sister.

And that was what she was like a while back. She was like a sister to him, when Hazel wasn't around she was there. As far as I knew at least.

Nico released her after a while and looked around some more. What he saw was Hazel looking at him with pride, Piper with a knowing smile, Will with a dangerous smirk on his face like he knew something no one else did, Annabeth with her sisterly love, and me with a smile on my face. He smiled in turn to each of us. "I missed you guys," he said truthfully.

"We missed you too," I replied, my smile sad in remembrance of the one I hold closer to my heart. He must have realized this because his smile died and he cleared his throat looking down.

Will nudged his arm and gave him a look, he looked confused for a second but then realized what Will was trying to get him to do or say. "So, Will said you guys wanted to know why we did all of... that stuff," he said looking down guiltily.

No one said anything but we all gave him curious looks letting him know we wanted to know, and desperately. "It's hard to explain because most of it was hazy, but I wasn't the first one to shake it," he looked straight at Annabeth. "Percy was."

"What is this 'it' thing you're talking about?" Annabeth asked looking pained and slightly confused.

"I'm not sure, it was like I was in another part of my mind, like I was continually stuck in a shadow travel. When Percy first came out of it he asked me where you were." He said pointing at Annabeth, "then he asked me why Cally was annoying him so much, at the time I was confused at his actions but that's what got me out of it. I wasn't the next one to shake it. That was Leo, then it was Jason, then Frank. I think it went by how much we love the other, and how long we've been together." He said looking at each of us.

"But I wasn't with Leo for long; we got together after Hazel and Frank." I said confused.

"He loved-loves you very much, almost as much as Percy loves Annabeth." That was almost impossible, they had been together for a short amount of time but they did go through Tartarus together, and that is one scary place. "He did die for you Calypso, I know I don't know you much but the way he talks about you is unmistakable with how much he loves you."

I didn't know what to say, it was true he died for me, and did everything after I lost my powers and immortality. He made sure I was comfortable with everything, and checked in on me every day he wasn't at camp. I guess I hadn't really thought of it like that.

Annabeth sighed, "thank you Nico, this has been helpful," she got up off of her spot on the couch "if you want you can stay here, we have a spare room if you want to use it." Her comment sounded jokingly but her voice said she wasn't really happy. Well I know who's not going to get much sleep tonight. She moved to the stairs, obviously going to bed.

"Yeah we better go to bed guys, it's almost one, I'll see you guys in the morning." Hazel said with a smile, she went and hugged Nico. "I'm glad you're back to normal."

"Me too," he let go and tugged Will up the stairs. They were smiling the whole way.

We each followed soon after the couple did.
