Chapter 34
Annabeth Pov
I furrowed my brow; these five people in front of us ruined the lives we had started to plan for ourselves. They took the most important things from us. Though the boys might have chosen this for themselves. But seeing how they acted when we first came here, and how Percy reacted to me showing my face, I don't think that was completely true.
"I'm guessing its fun for you but not us," I heard Will say, he seemed too bored of them already.
Ian smiled, "you are correct my blonde fiend."
"Before you do anything can you at least answer a question?" I asked, still glaring at the five people in front of us.
Cally seemed to consider this for a second. "Hmmm, I guess it won't hurt to ask, but getting an answer might be different."
"How did you get them to do it? Everyone I mean, how did you get them to blindly follow you?" I had been wondering this from the beginning, and I know that the others have been wondering as well.
"Oh that was easy; mother wanted us to make love potions for her: she was too busy to do it herself. So she put her children up to it on a small, stay at camp, quest. But that's not the point." Lexi said. "Cally stole us some extras that were made. Then Dixie put extra mist on the boys: they are deeply in love with all of you ya know." She smiled at that little tid bit. "The rest of the camp was misted too. Ian made small darts for the long term effects and stronger powered ones for the gods. I charmspoke the defective ones. Natalie made sure no word got out that this happened." Lexi looked quite pleased with her answer. The others not so much.
"You are an idiot, Lexi." Natalie said slapping the back of Lexi's head.
"What'd I do?" she said ducking her head and rubbing the sore spot.
"We didn't really want to tell them that you dimwit." Ian glared at her.
"Oh, sorry. Just forget everything I said, ok?" she looked over to us, hopeful that we would magically forget the last few minutes. Yeah not really happening, her charmspeaking powers weren't that powerful.
I looked to my comrades once more. We all looked worse for wear, Hazel seemed out of it, she must be trying to find the layout of the cave system, and she's done that before. During a training exercise we had done with Chaos, it was actually like this exact situation, but had minor differences like any other thing in the world. Nothing is ever the same as a simulation.
I thought back to the simulation. In that one we had tools with us. Here I saw our weapons in the corner in a pile the size of a dog, our wings were stretched behind the chairs and shackled at the joint where the met my back. The cuffs holding us to the chairs seemed to be deferring our powers, I could tell that much from the way I felt so weak. Our magic must only be diluted; if not we would still have been out for the count, Hazel would barely be able to bring gems up. Piper must have about the same ability in charmspeaking that Lexi currently has. And Calypso shouldn't have enough to heal us right now, much less grow any plants. I can't really use anything anyways, and Will can't either - he normally tries to get away with just using his invisible 'charm and good looks'.
Hazel had opened her eyes and smirked slightly. She knew something. Our captors were still talking and it seemed that only piper and Calypso were listening to them anymore, Will I couldn't see so I wasn't sure. I turned my attention to catch the last bit of their evil spiel. "...find you again. So I suggest you stop with the little path finding trick Hazel. It won't help you, you have no outs, and you have nothing left to help you. No one is coming to find you." Hazel smiled a little more at Cally's statement.
"I'm not so sure that we're completely helpless. I mean we do have more intellect than you do." I said. I knew Hazel had a plan. I just needed to give her time to do things.
Will noticed this and joined in. "We obviously have some things that you don't. Let's see what do we have? Oh! I know wings, real powers, good looks, family, good friends. Hey girls what else do we have?" He leaned over to look over at us. The others nodded and started spewing absolute random crap to them. Hazel snickered with me. I saw gems spouting from the door way. Someone's coming. I could tell the others knew this too. Hazel looked over to us all and caught my eye. She turned back to the bitches that took us.
"I'd say we just found an out," Hazel smirked through this. Cally and the others looked confused until a few skeletons came through the cave opening with swords blazing.
